Darien Lake is looking to bring several new rides and attractions to its water park. According to documents that park officials filed with the Genesee County Economic Development Center, they include the FlowRide surfboard ride and a “Mach 6” water slide that is 50 feet high. The rides should be installed and ready by late May.

Hey they got Some water Rides just sitting down at SFKK!!!
No I don't have a kid, but I still want to ride!
I wouldn't down the "million" number. Remember in 1999, the peak attendance WAS 1.7 million. That's not too shabby for this park. Unfortunately, to have it fall through the cracks by not keeping up with the times with advertising & upgrades replacing older rides like other parks do, kind of hurt their attendance quite a bit.
Not to mention the whole fiasco of Six Flags not giving 2 sh*ts for awhile... and also the park receiving a major coaster since 1999 kind of hurt its appeal, too.
CoasterMonkey - SF is no longer involved with Darien, they're a PARC-7F park now...
I think EG and EV proved that the water parks are where the money is, so it makes sense for 7F to go in this direction...
Darien's biggest draw isn't the park, so much as the campground and the concert pavilion. I don't think they're going to hurt if they don't add another major ride. That being said, it's about time something, anything, changed for the better there. :)
One of the problem I ran into in the past couple years (more then, than now) was after the park for sale and job cuts and the sell off, People thought the park was closed up for good. Sounds weird but I had many people that first season and a half say '"did Darien close for good." With the adds and promotions Parc has been doing its helped a lot and i personally see more people in the park. Yes the campground and concerts are a big draw. I know the campgrounds are big with guests from farther away and many canadians. But i don't think the concerts add that many more people in the park. It is buffalo and i would say a large number of DL concert goers would go to the concert 6 hours early and get trashed in the parking lot rather than going into the park. Any person on here who has ever been to the park for a concert can back this up. But what Raven said any change is for the better.
Its sad when your best friend asks you the exact running time of a ride. Good thing I didnt know.
