Darien lake- lots of land, gone to waste

With darien lake being the second largest (acre wise) park in the six flags chain and with lots of land undeveloped it seems like six flags is letting this great park with great potential  not become what it can be.  With six flags world of adventure coming into the pic, sfdl seemed to be forgotten about and now that great escape will probably become six flags and get a large expansion, it seems like sfdl might never get the attention it derserves.

I don't think you understand what "potential" is. The potential is Buffalo, and that's not exactly the largest market in the country. If I owned half of Montana, would it make sense to deck it out with a giant theme park? Of course not, there aren't enough people to support such a business.

There not letting land go to waste if its still there! Its just not SFDL's turn among the 4, soon to be 5, SF parks in New England for a major expansion!

sfdl will hopefully het somthing for 2002. I think slingshot was to see if people like those. And, since the line was long there, we'll probrably get one. Land surveyors were seen in Barracua Bay, and since Cascade Canyon closed, we'll hopefully get something to replace that. (waterslides)

One speed Doesn't Fit All!

How come not so many people ever say anything about Niagara Falls, they alway says the negative aspects of the park location. With the new big *** clifton hill expansion on the canadian side a big expansion to SFDL would bring more members to the American Side and travel the extra distance to ride the new coasters and thrill rides at SFDL. And 45 minutes aint so far away.

What kills me most is that SFDL has all this land, but  they keep REMOVING and DEMOLISHING old rides to be replaced with new ones, rather then just adding "in addition to"...

On that same note, Cascade Canyon is falling down...

Old rides cost money to operate and repair, and if their customer numbers continue to fall, it's time to replace them with a better use of real estate.

Why does SFDL need a giga coaster?  The last thing they need is another Intamin hyper/giga design.

i think one of the next coaster instillations would be a mouse along with another family coaster like a Rollerskater or a Vekoma kiddie suspended like Reptar.

A "family" coaster would be a nice addition similar to the Roadrunner Express at Worlds of Adventure, or Silver Streak at Canada's Wonderland (hopefully it'd be a original layout, but for a family coaster... highly doubtful!).

--I'd just hope that it wouldn't be the 'Only' new ride addition to Darien Lake. What they do need, however, in terms of a coaster is either a brand new wooden coaster not to replace Predator, but to compliment it (maybe a woodie twister or a throw-back to the 20's out & back!) or some kind of looping coaster. Nothing too huge, nothing too fancy... just something original!

--- Oh yeah, and put it in a spot where there were no rides to begin with! It's getting cramped in a park where they have a multitude of land to expand upon!

Cedar Piont is nothing with out MF. Come to SFMM and see whats happening. Just give us a Giga coaster and bam. CP out of the pic.

We might WANT them, but we don't NEED one (at SFDL).. S:RoS is good, give us something else to work with and I will be happier. No need for us to get a giga (and we won't anytime soon either...)
