Dance Beat Arcade

I don't think this is against the TOS.

There's a new arcade geared mainly towards DDR style games, just north of Nashville. I believe it opened in April. I haven't been since I just came across it (I'm not a big DDR player) so I haven't been yet. It's pretty close to me so I'll probably stop by there soon. Anyone want me to get pictures? Are there more like these elsewhere?

Neat, but how the hell do you sustain a business on that specialty?

Yeah I don't see it lasting a long time. Even if their business was good enough, how long will the DDR craze last?

There's a business here where you go pay per hour to play multiplayer PC games on a LAN. It's been a long time, but the only times I went in or by there, it was not busy. I'm surprised they've been there probably 3 years now.

You attain a fanbase as large as the one for Bemani.

Solved.

I think you seriously overestimate the popularity of the games and the profitability of operating a coin-op establishment.

Think very hard about the reason Dave & Busters makes money. It's not the games, it's the beer.

Oviously someone knows nothing of Arcade Infinity.
Raptor Pilot, there is an arcade similar to that in which Tiger previously mentioned here in southern California; Rowland Heights, to be exact. The majority of the video games there are manufactured by Bemani. Interesting games, to say the least. All of them are great games, and the arcade itself does very well for having a large crowd most nights and weekends. Of course, there are other games there as well, but about 60 percent of them are Bemani.

Have you ever looked into franchising or opening a video arcade? I have, and the potential for ROI sucks. Make no mistake, as much as I love these games, they're a fad. Such a business has no long-term prospect.
