Daily Crowds on average

I couldn't agree more on the Memorial Day thing. No matter where in country I've been living and what parks I've visited, Memorial Day is usually a pretty dead weekend for the parks. Weather is prime and crowds are busy doing other things.

The one thing I find wierd about that site is that it lists wait times for rides on weekdays in months when parks are not open during the week. It shows that Cedar Point is especially crowded on thursdays in October, when it is not even open.

I like disco.

So then the waits are actually several days. See, I told you that you don't need a site like that.

you should go to Cedar point on a saturday in July, maybe around the fourth. people are busy and never go to theme parks on the holidays.

The site is not without it's flaws. Right now there is some dead data, that was added when I was testing the site. Hence the "Beta-Phase". It is flagged and will be removed once the site goes "Alpha".

To better improve on the accuracy, there is also a session variable that tags all the information that is added by a user in one sitting. If the info looks suspect, then I will wipe out the entire session. It is really the only way to ensure accurate times.

The system is not perfect, but it is the only one out there and will improve over time. Like I said before, CP is not the only park that people want this imformation for and many people don't know what school schedules are like in CA, FL, AZ, etc.

I am not asking for a promotion or endorsement. It is just a tool that is there to help.

Too bad for all the parks I looked at, the data was off from my experiences.

My suggestion to the original poster to this thread. Sundays. I have always found Sundays to have light lines, especially in the morning to early afternoon hours.

We almost always had the shortest lines on Sundays when I worked at the park.

First, Alpha should be before Beta. That's how the alphabet goes.

Second, I think it's a great idea, but will be completely useless until getting several years worth of GOOD data. It'll never be able to predict daily trends, but being able to guesstimate a weekly or monthly trend might be possible.

Getting GOOD data is harder than you might think...or so I tell people...;)

Getting the most OUT of the data you have, that is a skill that I've found is nearlt unheard of...which should make ME a valuable employee for someone...;)
