Activity will soon increase at the park in preparation for its upcoming reopening, according to Rick Dantzler, a former Florida legislator and attorney, who has recently been hired by the park's owners.

"There are several scenarios the owners are kicking around," Dantzler said, referring to Brian Philpot and Rob Harper, who purchased Cypress Gardens through a bankruptcy sale for $16.8 million in September 2007.

^Don't get too excited too quickly, I think this is the same group that said Cypress would re-open in the Spring with the gardens, waterski show, and waterpark....(and no amusement rides save perhaps the "Island in the Sky" ride that was original to the Gardens).

That would be a huge bummer, but I read somewhere that they intend to keep the rides and move them around.

^I don't know what information you have read, but every news story about Cypress Gardens has all the rides being removed along with the animals (save for Island in the Sky as gator mentioned.)

The only thing moving is the parking lot and entrance.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
