Cypress Gardens reopens November 26 /w Kenny Rogers

Are any buzzer's planning to attend their official opening weekend? (Or have already attended a soft-opening?) I'd love to hear the local scoop.

I plan to check it out in January, even though all the coasters are categorized as 'family' on RCDB.

As it happens, I have a family, and am planning to visit during our week-long sojourn to the Mouse House in late February.

I'll hopefully get down in the next month or so to check it out. I never visited the old Cypress Gardens but it sounds like it's going to be a nice mix of the old (gardens, water skiing shows) and new (rides! and waterpark). I'm sure that there will be some TRs up in the next few weeks.

I'll be there *sometime* in December or January...of course, if you're counting on ME for a TR, you're be sorely disappointed...

Random notes and comments, sure, a full-fledged TR, not likely...;)

Ah, come on Bill! You managed one back in January for it's sister park ;)

In that case I'm not due for another until....hmmmmmm, '07....;)

Maybe I can just *piggyback* on someone else's TR....who wants to go to CG with me, anytime Kenny Rogers ISN'T gonna be there...:)

I have been trying to get FTPLA (the club I am in-read signature) in for the grand opening, but no word yet. I am going to try and go one day in december (after finals)
So here's the big question.... is the Esther Williams swimming pool built in the shape of Florida still there?

I vividly recall being a kid and my parents taking me to Cypress. On the tour they showed us the pool, much to the oohs and aaaahs of all the senior citizens that made up about 99% of the attendees. I remember thinking... "Who the heck is Esther Williams?"

I'll be up in Mouseland for Thanksgiving but if I do go to Cypress I may wait for Saturday or Sunday instead.

I'm just glad to see the place open and ready to spring for the annual pass just to show Kent some support.

So who went, what was it like, and how was Kenny Codgers?

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
I went the day after Kenny -- because I'm no Gambler. (ha, ha, hee)

I wrote up a trip report so I probably shouldn't repeat myself, but in a nutshell the park still has quite a bit to go to get ready (especially on the commissary side) though most of the rides were up and running -- and the whole park is very promising and the ride area works really well.
