Custom SLC restraints modified

Posted | Contributed by GregLeg

Complaints about "nipple burn" have led to a redesign of the Jubilee Odyssey roller coaster in Lincolnshire. About a dozen women have complained to staff at Fantasy Island after riding the coaster.

I don't believe it! I demand to see the evidence!

ROFL, this is just fantastic!

I find it funny that this has happened at a park called "Fantasy Island".

(This now concludes today's dose of crudeness....)

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

oiy... what next?
Nipple burn, aka jogger's nipple is no fun. But it's more of a nuisance than anything.

I'm not an enthusiast, I just play one on message boards.

They spent £60,000 redesigning the restraints? Couldn't we have just sent these women all the extra duct tape we have? Couple small pieces for each of them, problem solved.

That takes some guts to walk up to Guest Relations and say, "Excuse me, my nipples are burned."

Perhaps now SFMM will respond when I complain about the "chin" burn I received on Deja Vu...;)

This also happens when you were say a jersey on the plain skin. Ouch. I also want to see evidence.

Now if we can just get parks and coaster manufacturers to spend some money on SLC "head slam".

As one who has suffered from this malady before, I can tell you it's NOT fun. Some OSTR's (Iron Wolf at SGGAm immediately comes to mind) can HURT. I can only imagine what those "harnesses" can do.
And no...I'm not showing you mine. ;)

LOL Jim perhaps we should complain to management about suffering "head burns" after riding an SLC & see how they'll respond.

Seriously though if they'd just redesign the SLC restraints then maybe the ride quality would improve, they can design a soft restraint similar to those on the VFD's & put a ratchet into the bottom of the harness much like the ones on S:UF which would lock into slots on the arm rests of the seats.

Are any of you other sickos reminded of the increased *crotch padding* on Acrophobia...;)

Anyone notice the photo shows the coaster with the track in the overbank removed? Anyone have any info as to what they did to it exactly? Not the nipple burning thing, the track modifying thing or whatever they did.

"Know thyself!"

Can you tell me why the newspapers are so dumb...this is the second mistake we have seen. The other being Sea Worlds coaster, Kraken, being a wooden coaster. Now this:The Jubilee Odyssey opened in 2001 (located below the picture)

Jubilee Odyssey opened in 2002 as the world's longest suspended roller coaster.

My exgirlfriend was really uncomfortable on Viper at SFGAdv and the next day she found that the "tooth" restraint system (which acts like two large pipes pushing down on her breasts) had left bruises that were painful for the next week. We should try to get Togo to change those things since they're so uncomfortable to non-short and skinny people.
"Jubilee Odyssey opened in 2002 as the world's longest suspended roller coaster."

JO did open in 2002 but not as the worlds longest suspended roller coaster, Pyrenees at Parque Espana-Shima Spain Village is.

Also this comes after a major retracking due to stalling problems, cancelling 2003 attractions.

Just so everyone knows, the coaster is also going through a re-design, according to rumours, the sidewinder is being taken out complety and after the cobra roll, there will be a few turns(maybe a helix) and end with the corkscrew into the brakes. However it seems quite hard to get a final word out of Fantasy Island so we wont know whats offically happened till opening day.

Also I find the story about the coaster causing nipple burn hilarious, I wonder if the person in the complaints office kept a straight face when a women came upto him/her and said My Nipples have burned, lol ;)
