Custom Commercials for SF parks this year?

For the first year...SFDL has its own commercial

"come for a week or come for a day! at darien lake you can stay where you play!" and then it shows a cool view of superman along with viper, mind eraser, and predator.

Are other parks doing this?

Last year it seemed like it was a generic commercial for all the sf parks.

Six Flags Darien Lake Mania! Your #1 source for DL and other parks!

Last year SFEG got its own commercial that was recorded the year before. This year they are using the same footage, except a couple of shots are of other coasters we don't have.

Wasn't last year when SF did all the spots with different pop artists?

This year SFGAdv has run 2 different ads of their own. One is solely promoting S:UF and the one I see more often now is a general park ad...and it even includes footage of Goliath & Psyclone :)

Well, LG.....SFNJ (GAdv) *does* have both a "good" hyper and a POS woodie....easy to see how the two parks could get mixed up...;)

It seems today, that all you see, are violins in movies, and sax on TV....
Has SFGAdv always been labeled the "Ultimate Theme Park" because I've just started hearing that this summer.

Well SFKK has a few commercials, advertising a buy one, get one free ticket with a can of coke, and a regular short commercial telling people to come and try Greezed Lightin', Chang, and T2.

I dont get it, even though T2 is the worlds worst headbanger they still advertise for it. They should put Twisted Twins or Thunder Run on, but in no way do I think they should advertise for T2. I would really support if they replace it. I think even a simple boomerang would be better. Just my opinion though.

True, gator, True.

A lot of people complain about that sort of thing, but I kind of like seeing footage of the different coasters. The GP will never notice and I get to see ads featuring rides I'm 3000 miles away from.

Kind of like a mini coaster special just for me.

I think six flags should be ashamed of their commecials. All the ones I have seen use coasters at other parks to promote the park that the commercial is for. I saw a six flags worlds of adventure commercial and none of the coasters in it were from that park, they were all from another park. That is cheap, and I think a poor way to run a company. They should use the rooler coasters from the park they are promoting not other sixflags parks.

CP kicks SFMM ASS!

As far as I can remeber which is only the last few years, SFWOA always had their own comercials, but the funny part is they always show people smiling having fun, isn't that false advertising, I never see people there happy. Like last year when they had the bubble gum wanna be punk BS popsters, then they have the buy one get one free bs comercial this year, for me thats not cheap enough for that park, its gotta be free

While I haven't payed close attention to the rides shown in the SFWoA spots here in Columbus, I have noticed the script that they use - something to the effect of "more rides, more coasters, more animals than any other park". Bah, whatever (well, unless you count many of the park guests as animals, then maybe they are being truthful there! :))

We also get deluged with Wyandot Lake ("A Six Flags Property") ads here, touting their big new attraction - new bumper cars!!! [sarcasm] Yippee. [/sarcasm] It is hard to tell if anything shown in this spot is from WL though (I doubt it).

Personally,

I have found the SFWoA commercials to be some of the best Coaster Commercials I have seen in Ohio. They do use ALL their own park video and pictures this year. I have yet to see any other park photage in the 3 different ones yet this year. Come to think of it, Last year after July, all the SFWoA commercials were SFWoA own stuff.

I'm assuming some of the above statments are joking, but to say there are no smiles? The park is in unblievable great state right now, nothing but smiles!

I have found the commercials to be great. MANY people complained about the hit they took at CP last year, the park said they were sorry and changed that marketing. MANY people said ephasize on what they have, so what does SFWoA do. Hold your breathe....They ephasize this year on what they have! Wow, what an idea! SFWoA does have "More Rides, More Coasters, More animals than any other park" for one park and one price....at least to my knowledge. The commercials this year show the SFWoA animals, they show one of the top rated kiddie parks, they show the rides, they show the actual SFWoA roller coasters (with some really cool flybys.) I have to tip my hat to them for actually VASTLY improving them this year. And on top of it all it's unique video. Unlike IOA's commercials up here in Ohio. I don't know how many times I keep seeing different commercials but the same video and photage of that place. Now if CP can just start re-advertising TTD with some cool video.

One thing that I noticed with SFWoA is that they are promoting ALL aspects of the park, not just the coasters. In fact drive down the highway and see a SFWoA sign, it has a water slide and I think a dolphin. This is helping then to show that they really are a HUGE park.

On a side note, I've notice the Cedar Point is playing the same commercial as last year, just adding in the 16th coaster, but not saying what it is.

every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

I think I saw two different commercials for SFWoA. One was from that small kid's point of view, and another was just a general ad with music showing lots of aerial shots and stuff. I thought they were pretty good.

SFNE had one commercial earlier in the season that showed actual footage of some of the new slides in Hurricane Harbor. However, now its just the same footage as last year: Aerial shots of S:RoS and Scream and Medusa East. Oh, and we also have footage from SFNJ's Hurricane Harbor and aerial footage of ours.

SFDL actually has footage from SFDL in the commercials because they flew around and took footage last year at the park. Before this they still never had any footage of S:ROS and overhead shots like they do now... it's about time they actually have something to show off. And since we have the resort they can advertise that too.... except, who in their right minds would want to stay a whole week!? I can't even last 4 hours....
Hmmm, that’s confusing. The Canadian SFDL commercials (the ones advertising special deals for Canadians) from last year were basically comprised completely of overhead and fly by shots of the park (and in particular S:ROS...)

Well they shot the footage last year, and started using it later into the season as well...
SFNE has had its own commercials since it changed to SF in 2000. I like how they lie about things. They say that the waterpark is double the size. Hate to tell ya Six Flags but a few new slides isn't double the size.

If seen 3 commercials for SFWoA, all custom. One for tickets available at Giant Eagle, one for "Buy one get one" for Coca-Cola, and the last one for "more rides, more slides, more animals than any other park!"... last year all I saw was a generic name switch commercial, showing Goliath, Medusa @ SFGAdv and Deja Vu
