Curious If I would see anyone at HW May 6/7

I was curious how many people were making a special trip this weekend besides me there.
To bad I won't be on the first ride.

If not I'll see everyone at holliwood nites. Can't Wait!!!

Interestingly enough, I'll actually be there on Saturday.

I've only been out to the park once, and even then, I didn't go in. We drove out from the east coast, and we got there the night of Stark-Raven Mad. We were going to go to the park the next day, but they closed the park due to the rider death the day before.

Hopefully we'll get to go into the park this time and get to ride all 3 woodies multiple times.

Check out the meeting calendar: http://www.coasterbuzz.com/calendar.htm
hmm...that's pretty sweet deal to have
I can't figure out how to get on that calendar...so...

I'll be there all weekend and can't wait!!

See you there.

Um...you click on the link above (or where it says meeting calendar on any page) and then it says:To post to the calendar:

Actually, I'm beginning to worry the whole world is going to be at Holiday World for Opening Day. We may never get to ride Voyager. The line may extend all the way over to the Santa Claus Motel.

Every coaster fan I know is heading out the interstate. Every message board I check out is full of posters talking about going. The campground and area motels and beds and breakfasts are talking about filling up.

Voyage is capable of running three trains and with their excellent crews the line should move pretty steadily.

It's very true that you may never get to ride Voyager because Holiday World doesn't have a ride by that name. Also, Paula doesn't design roller coasters, she just hypes them up real well:)

In all seriousness, there may be a lot of people going to the park for the opening of The Voyage, but Holiday World isn't Cedar Point. I mean no offense by that, but I seriously wouldn't expect any kind of Millennium Force/Top Thrill Dragster situation to unfold. They have three trains and it's a long ride. Enjoy!

Edit: By the way, I thought you had made a really bad typo in your thread title, or maybe your keyboard was messed up. After reading it again, I realized that you used chat shorthand/text messaging for anyone and people. Since this isn't a chat room or a cell phone, there's no need to used shorthand. Take all the time you need and spell everything out except for ride names, parks, and some ride designers. It would be greatly appreciated for us "old" folks. Thanks! *** Edited 5/1/2006 3:32:27 AM UTC by Intamin Fan***

    Intamin Fan,

Are you some kind of self appointed CB admin, or moderator?

Reason I ask is because I see you trying to police everything that you don't like with peoples posts(Including mine), all over CB.

I noticed that Gonch made the necessary title correction, and noted it in this thread, but you just made your holier than thou speech on the subject.

So if your not an admin, or mod, then lose the act.

Not to be modest here, but I do not see anything wrong with shorthand as long as it still understood in the correct contexts. Meaning we use CP for cedar point HW for holiday world, but if it's important to everyone that I do not use my shorthand I will spell everything out for now on.
How exactly am I holier than thou Coasterphan? I asked in a very nice way to not use text messaging or chat shorthand. I didn't quote the Terms of Service. I didn't just say T.O.S.! like some people, now did I? I've been part of this community since 2000. I have certain expectations that I like to see met when I read other people's posts. I don't want to read something like it's a vanity license plate.

You don't have to be a moderator to suggest to someone how you would like to see things. Notice, I used the word suggest. If Wes wants to continue to use neone or ppl than I can't stop him, can I? Trust me, if I've got a problem with it, than others probably do too.

Plenty of other people besides myself have pointed out to others their misdeeds such as not using paragraphs, having multiple spelling errors, typing in all caps, starting threads that "violate" the terms of service etc., etc. There's only so many moderators. Do you think that they stay home 24 hours a day monitoring every single thread, topic, and post? That would be a no.

If you read my post, you also will realize that I said that I have no problem with park, ride, and certain manufacturer abbreviations or acronyms (like B&M or GCI), as everyone is pretty much on the same page with those (the only grey area is with Great America and Great Adventure which some people confuse). There is another thread going on right now that talks about ride and park acronyms.

Now I'll direct my comments towards Wes. The problem is that not everyone understands what you typed and how to translate it. Like I said above, when I'm driving down the road at 70mph, and I read someone's vanity license plate, it's not always easy to decipher what the person is trying to spell out. A lot of time, I never get it at all because it may be an inside joke, a job, a family thing, or a reference to something that I don't know about. When everything is spelled out, there's no doubt about what you're trying to say.

To refute I am not going to due to the fact that is childish. I agree with you and I edited my comments Let it go.
    lol

    oh, I'm sorry

Lots of love. I assume that's what that means. *** Edited 5/2/2006 2:18:48 AM UTC by Wabash Cannonball***
