Crystal Beach Cyclone

When I proposed a steel version earlier, I was referring to the track. A steel track would change the ride experience, but it might allow a designer to get closer to the original's intensity. Perhaps a steel track on wooden supports would give it the smoothness of steel with the beauty and flexibility of wood. Do the wooden supports on Gemini allow for any give? Just curious.

Also, I believe the layout of Raging Wolf Bobs is based on the Riverview Bobs. There doesn't seem to be much love out there for that coaster, though.

The original CB Cyclone was a wood track with steel supports... I think it'd look kinda silly if it was the complete opposite.

the thing about the deaths would be used as a marketing tool.

Um, no.... Parks aren't in the habit of marketing a dangerous or based on a dangerous ride. How many commercials have you seen lately about SFGAm talking about Raging Bull "Now with one Fatality for extra Umpf!"? Parks hope that people will forget that someone died on a ride, and this would be rather obscene to advertise a coaster based on a coaster that killed people, that's all our certain senators need to get more coaster restrictons...

I doubt the CBC will ever be redone. Though it looked cool, It had a bad rep, and I've not met anybody that really raved about it. It's one of those legends that will live in infamy, like The Bat. Just cause something looks ultimately cool, dosen't mean it is, and there are enough rough and tumble coasters out there that can send you to the hospital, why do we need another?

Kiss me, I'm stylish!! :)

I recreated CBC in NoLimits for the v1.3 update. I based my layout on the CAD drawing by Chris Gray (http://www.cmgmodels.com/cad/cad_models.htm).

I'm not suggesting this is an accurate representation of what the real CBC was like but the recreation, at least, is ridable.

How this would translate into real life is anyone guess but I firmly believe that the simulations are accurate enough to give an idea of what the real thing would be like. All that you would have to do is lower the lift hill by 8 feet to take the edge of the turns and it would be a perfectly safe ride.

I bet it could be done. Question is will it? :)
