Crowds at SFMM this summer

How have the crowds at Magic Mountain been this summer during mid-week? I was thinking of going the week of August 19. September would be better, of course, but because of the school schedule of the friend I'll be going with, September isn't an option this year.

First off, they're closed weekdays in September. As for crowds, maybe 4 hours on X, 1 hour 20 minutes on Goliath, 2 on riddlers, 1 on batman, 1 hour on superman, and the rest will be under an hour, except for deja vu

With X opening up I think they need to do something with there line. Like only let a certain amount of people in so it would only be a two hour wait. But as Speedy said if they don't 4 hours for X and up to 3 for Delay Ja Vu.

Are these wait times you guys are talking about on a weekday or a weekend? I went on a weekday in June, and although it was very crowded, the longest wait was a little over an hour for Deja Vu and Goliath.

As the summer goes on Parks get more and more crowded. when did you go in july? many schools don't even let out until jun 22nd.

When do the kiddies go back to school? I will be in LA the first week of Sept (the last week they're open during the week).

One of the ladies I caught on the phone last month told me that they are totally dead that week (except for Monday (Labor Day)).

They wont be that long on a weekday, but X would probably hit 3-4hrs. I went on 2 weekdays in June, and every ride was nearly a walk on apart from X- 3hrs, DeJa Vu- 50 mins, Riddler- 30 mins, Goliath-30 mins, but absolutly everything else was walk on or upto 10-20 mins max, It was brilliant.

Of course those queue times you described are what they will tell you at customer services, can you believe the park actually lies about queue times to sell its FastPass Tickets, I remember I enquired about the queue time for various rides after arriving about midday and was Told the following(This is True)

X - 4hrs(Actual Queue Time 3hrs)
Viper - 1hr(Actual Queue Time Walk On)
Rapids - 1hr(Actual Queue Time 10 mins)
DeJa Vu - 2hrs(Actual Queue Time 50 mins)
Riddler - 1hr( Actual Queue Time 15 mins)
Batman - 1hr(Actual Queue Time Walk On)
Goliath 3hrs(Actual Queue Time 20 mins)
Superman - 30 mins(Actual Queue Time Walk On)
Ninja - 30 mins(Actual Queue Time Walk On)

So as you can see, there were quite a few lies flying about, Of course I was very wise, and decided not to buy any, but unfortunutly some people were conned and decided to buy some tickets, It was quite hilarious seeing people go up the fastpass line, and then you get on the ride much quicker by simply queueing normally.

Wow! I really got lucky back in march. I waited:

X:3 Hours

Deja Vu:Walk-on

Viper: Walk-on

Goliath-walk on

Revenge-walk-on

Batman-in the station

S:TE: 10 minutes

Everything else was a walk-on

The best day to go has got to be easter:)

I went to magic mountain on a saturday and Sunday in July and never waited more then 30 minutes. I had a good coaster riding plan. The first day(Saturday) while everyone else went to Deja Vu I went to Goliath, Batman, Superman, Riddler, Goldrusher, and Collossus with all walk on rides(a lot for the front or back seats). I couldn't believe my luck :). The second day I ran straight to Deja Vu and then got re-rides on my favorites. A weekday shouldn't have very long lines as long as you don't go to the most popular attractions at the peak of the day.

When I was there for the Con it was weird. On Sunday the crowds were minimal. But then on Monday and for the remainder of the Con the lines were long. 1 1/2 to 2 hours for Goliath, 2 for RR, 1 1/2 for B:TR, 2 for Deja Vu. Luckily we had ERT on all the major coasters so we didn't have to wait in those long lines during the day and we could do other things in the park or out and about in LA.

I went during Con, I think it was June 18th. So I guess the kids were still in school, but it was much more crowded that day than when I went a couple years ago in August, I'm sure if I go back in November the crowds will be a lot lighter.

THe Fastpass people aren't lieng, they are probably stating averages, I don't blame them.
