Crew on Volcano:Blast Coaster

Cheers to the crew on Volcano:The Blast Coast at PKD. The dispatches were very smooth all day (9-8-2002).
I love the little cart for 'loose articles'.
I was fortunate enough to get a ride at the very end of the night with only 3 people on the train...it was AWESOME!!!

jgfama, there are a couple enthusiasts on the Volcano crew....sorry, don;t remember any of their names, but we managed to get a couple re-rides to end the night, and it was great! Stayed after closing to watch them clear the Volcano - a huge fiery display...the whole park had great personnel, (even if they don't allow snapping flyers)....can't wait to try out their "upgrade" of PKI's Drop Zone....:)

Next year's Coaster Con is at PKD/BGW...;)

When I was there it went down several times while waiting in line. Other than that they do get the most capacity that they can out of that. I didn't really find the ride to be all that exciting. I enjoyed the launch and being blasted out of the Volcano at night. I did enjoy the front seat ride. Its just too short.

And i thought volcano had a relatively low capacity...

Everytime i have went there this season, it has always been a 1 1/2 hr + wait.

PKD does always seem to put their best crews on Volcano, and they have crews that are large enough to maximize capacity. This makes sense given that demand is high and the lines tend to be long.

It is good to hear they have gotten their act together. Maybe it is just my cynical nature, but I have always become annoyed at the stacking of trains and lack of enthusiastic employees. Well, check that, employees that are more concerned with themselves than the ride. Maybe it is time to go back to King's Dominion and see if the management has really improved things.

I got 6 rides on Volcano on Sunday and the longest wait was like 30 minutes.

I really enjoyed the ride, the blasts were cool but I really loved all the upside-down airtime!

I'm surprised too. I have a season pass to PKD and everytime I've gone, the trains were always stacked on Volcano. The slow loading time really annoyed me. I too am glad they got it together!
