A crane helicopter attempted to lift the base of the new Insanity ride atop Stratosphere yesterday, but windy conditions forced a rescheduling.

I hope it still opens in March! I'm ready to ride this thing!

I didn't know that the Santa Ana's affected Las Vegas too. It is really warm and windy here today. I love it by my wife hates it. Drives people looney. Can't wait to ride this though. :)
Its not the Santa Anas that we got yesterday. It was because of the storm that moved through this weekend...all that high pressure has started filling in behind that front. Its no where near as breezy today as it was yesterday or the day before.

Theres a webcam on the Statosphere site that has a view of the area that the ride will occupy. Check it out!

Do you ever get winds called Santa Ana there then or is that simply a local name? The reason I ask is because that pretty much describes Santa Ana conditions...when a high moves in over Arizona, it gets warm and breezy. Usually the high pressure winds are warmer because of adiabatic (compression) warming or something.

By the way, could you fix the link? :)

One of many reasons why helicopters make lousy cranes.
I just hope that the ride is open by our Vegas side trip during Solace...:)
