I received a e-mail in regards to cedar points millennium mania on Sept 6,7,13 & 14 from 3pm to 9pm. Tickets are $20. The only rides that are open are the power tower, Millennium force, raptor, magnum, and mantis. I am seriously considering attending. The only problem I have is It's about a 5 hour drive. It says that only a number of tickets are being sold. I just don't want to go and stand in line for ever and only be able to ride a few times. Anyone have information on the number of tickets sold? Did anyone attend last year? Is it worth the drive?
I know the coasters are worth the drive, but is the event worth it?
Yes, it's worth it.
I didn't go, but I remember all the reports.
Everyone who went last year got repeated walk on rides on MF and the front seat many times. One dude named coasterman or something like that went over and over again trying to raise money for a charity. He rode like 100 times.
You can't believe how jealous I was because last year I waited 3 hours for my first night ride, and only got a total of 3 rides. And then I read trip reports of people getting walk on rides. I'm sure the same thing will happen this year.
If I could drive 5 hours for repeat walk on rides on MF, then I'd do it.

It was worth it last year. We rode everything several times. I think I had 5 rides on MF within about 35 minutes. They were acutally allowing us to cut through the station to get back on. Of course the more the word gets out the more crowded it will be. I think the majority of the people that showed up last year were "locals" from within 150 miles of the park, but thats just a guess.
How do you get tickets to this? I'd really like to go. MF is real cool at night. You just have to remember to keep your teeth together to screen out the bugs. (lol)
I would order the tickets online at
www.cedarpoint.com since there is limited availability.
I heard from a lot of people that it was a waste, there were just long lines. Why not go when there are 68 rides instead of 5?

Long lines? The day I went was the only day in history (well, my history anyway) that I was able to reride a Cedar Point coaster without getting off. Five laps on Raptor, and even then I could have kept going if it wasn't for the fact I thought I might yack.

I went to Millennium mania last year, and i had the BEST time of my life, we rode millennium force 10 times! Not kidding, we got to ride front seat at night, the people on power tower told us we could just stay right on b/c there was NO line what so ever. Be careful though, if there aren't enough people on magnum or mantis, the ride gets kinda shaky, not too bad, but... Don't ride the raptor more than twice in a row(needless to say we sat on a bench for a while) We live in Michigan, north of Lansing, and we made the 3½ hour drive, and believe me, it was worth it. Don't let the word get too far out though, it's nice to have as few people there as possible, to enjoy it.
no I want to go :-)

Best Woodie: The Beast @ PKI
Best Park: IOA!
Get to the Point, Cedar Point!
Anyone telling you there were long lines are lying to try to keep the crowds down this year. I expect it'll be more crowded this year, but still reasonable -- Cedar Point will only be selling so many tickets.

Yeah, last year was awsome. I went with a friend. After riding Millennium Force 15 times, we went over to Mantis. We were the ONLY ones on the entire train.
It is not gonna be like that this year since they are advertising.

I have not seen any official reference to limited ticket sales for this year's event. Have I missed something?
And I'm curious as to what day you picked...and everyone else, for that matter.

So many coasters - so little time.
When you go to the order portion on the web page it says tickets are limited. As to the limit, it may be limited to how many they can sell :)

Interestingly, when I ordered my ticket I was never asked for which day. I have the ticket in my hands, and it just says "Valid Sept. 6, 7, 13, or 14 only".

Well, that sure simplifies the ordering process! It seemed last year you had you pick a date upon ordering. Oh well...out comes the Visa card!

On CPs website it says the ticket is valid for one of the four days, thats really cool cause I live in Dayton, 4 hours away (if highway is clear.)and that just means we can plan according to the weather on which day we wanna go! So, im getting 2 tickets, my dad and I are going, i have to cut a day of school, maybe two cause im 15. I havent done MF yet, im so excited! IF ANYONE has gone to it last year I really need to talk to someone about it, Since CPs website did give much information, my AIM screen name is Pretend2Care for anyone who went and would be willing to answer a few questions for me (I made a forum yet no one replied) Or, if you would like to email me.. just something, need to talk to someone who went :) hehe. its_all4_the_nookie@yahoo.com
And Chaindog, im shooting for the 7th. :-x
