CP voted worst for longest lines

Wall street journal has voted CP the worst park for having the longest lines. They can say they have the longest lines but they also have the fastest lines.

I read the original report and it wasn't a survey of any kind. It was a couple of people making conclusions on single visits. I've yet to wait more than an hour for anything there this year, or for that matter anywhere I've been this year.

So longest lines and fastest lines... What would make it the best park, then? Shortest lines that are the slowest?

Nonsense. Everybody's who's done Cedar Point knows they're about as good as it gets as far as throughput on their rides.
It doesn't matter how long the lines are; what's important is how long the average WAIT is. CP gets it right, believe me.
Ride 'em all... and then again!
The longest I've waited for any ride at CP this year was an hour and 1/2 (MF front seat). My average wait for anything has been less than 45 minutes (even MF and Raptor). Have you seen the lines for MS, Magnum, Gemini, Corkscrew, DT, Iron Dragon, Mine Ride, and BS this year? Not long lines at all. The only rides you realy have to worry about lines on any more is Raptor, Mantis, and MF, and even they haven't been all that bad.

At Kennywood, the wait for PR is usualy about an hour and 1/2 (due to the one train operation), Racer usualy has a fairly long line, and the Exterminator's line is usualy pretty bad too.

Kings island, one of the two days I was down there this year so far, FoF 1 and 1/2 hours, SOB 1 and 1/2 hours, Beast 1 and 1/2 hours. The next day was a little bit better on FoF (down to 15 minutes), and on Beast and SoB the lines were about an hour.

CP is not the only park with "long lines". I didn't get to read the article, but according to Jeff, it's just a few people's opinions who were at the park on a realy busy day most likly.

SOB Rides-4
They did'nt have Magic Mountain. They think CP is to be like Disney with head of the line passes.

Bunch of stupid people

PR runs one train because it *has* to. It will be running two trains next year when the brakes are installed.

Racer, Jack Rabbit, and Thunderbolt usually have "cut-off" points where noone else will get in line. It's an odd phenomenon I've only seen occur at Kennywood. Even with Racer's line out to Log Jammer, it's only about 20 minutes. With Jack Rabbit's line out of the ravine, it's only about 20 minutes too. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever waited longer than a half hour for Thunderbolt either.

I've waited 45 minutes for Exterminator though! ;)

My guess is that the reporter who wrote the article did the worst possible thing and follow the mob from the front gate to Raptor to MF and so on.

I went to SFMM in 1991 and I waited about two hours for every major thrill ride. Kings Island on a weekend is no picnic. But Cedar Point's lines move very fast. I remember the first time I went on MF last year...that was the longest line I have ever seen, yet we got on it in an hour. I don't think I have waited more than a 1/2 hour for any other ride in the park since.
Kings Island didnt have any wait at all when I went Thursday. Everyride was a walk on except SOB which I waited 20mins(and will never wait that long again for it), and Flight of Fear which was about 35mins. I rode Beast twice within 10~15mins.

I unfortunately missed it, but my sister told me this report wound up on NBC's Today show also. Not exactly good for business.

Batwing-Bow Down
May not be good for business, but thats less people in front of me in line...
From what I saw on the Today show, they went to a bunch of smaller parks and CP, obviously CP is going to have longer wait times, its a quite popular park with a quite popular ride...
Maybe they should have went to SFWoA and waited in line for X-Flight...

Even know I find lines long at Cedar Point I always find them to move pretty fast at times. I think Raptor and Mantis found to be the fastest just because they have a four seater. But I always seem to find Mean Streak to be at least 15minute wait. Also lets se 14 Rollercoasters, 70 rides and attractions plus challange park and soak city you can bet long lines.

Long lines that move fast...If Millennium Force was at SFoG, that line would be 3 hours long...CP can get a line moving quickly...
mf is like 5 hours when i went
Long lines, short lines, whatever, I love Cedar Point! And so did my whole family. We agreed it was WAY better than Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.

Five hours?!? What did you do go the first day it was opened? I went a week ago and the longest line (at the beginning of the day) was an hour and a half and it'd taper off to 45 min. at 5
OMG! There are actually long lines at major amusement parks! The horror of it all.

We have officially become a society of whiners. No mention of how fast the lines actually move, just typical fraudulent reporting. CP and SFMM have the fastest moving lines of all the major thrill parks, and i've been to both enough to know. Mantis and Batman are the exceptions... ;)

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
