CP Trip Tips

Four of us are going to cedar point in late July. What are the crowds usually like on a Tuesday/Wednesday in late July if anybody know from previous experiences? Also, for four people what would be the best tickets to buy and what CP Resort would you reccomend?

Weekdays are somewhat less busy, but don't expect Dragster to fall into that category. I would get there as early as possible, do Dragster first thing, and then enjoy the rest of the park. MForce's lines are iffy at times, but not too bad. Raptor and Magnum probably have the best capacity in the park. Even on the businest days the lines move pretty fast.

The rest of the park should be a piece of cake, with the exception of WT and the Wild Cat who seems to have insane lines, even on the least busiest days. A lot of the family flats will have lines too.

As far as tickets there are a lot of motels/hotels on Rt. 250 on the way to the park that offer packages/discount tickets. I would do a search on the net to find the best deals. :-)

The service stations on the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) have coupons also..... $9 off per ticket I believe. I grabbed a handful the last few times to give out to friends.

Good luck and have fun. ;-)

Tickets best thing is to check around I know Topps Supermarkets usually have them for about 9 to 10 bucks off, but your best bet if you are going for 3 days or more or plan on visiting another Cedar Fair park is a season pass Topps had them for around $89 which is 10 cheaper than at CP, as for crowds or certain days I've learned anyday of the week can be dead or really packed, good news is CP lines tend to move a lot quicker than other parks, your best bet is the free way pass system, you can get 2 stamps per day, I would recommend using them on Mantis, Raptor, or Wicked Twister, MF's usually run out pretty early in the day and then its still a mad house even with one. as far as a resort I guess look for packages but for a cheaper hotel your best bet is to find one a few miles away that can save you some $$.

If your a member of AAA, they have the best deal on tickets. I think tey are only $32.

If you don't like the ride shut up and get out of line.

I believe everyone should stay at the Breakers at least once during a visit to CP. Personally, I won't stay anywhere else.

Jump off one of the boats on Paddlewheel Excursions. The water is great to swim in and it's refreshing! ;)

YOUNGSTOWN 2010

How does the Joe Cool Club thing work, because we will be staying at the Hotel Breakers for the first of our two nights.

DON'T go to Cedar Point for the sole intention on riding Top Thrill Dragster. We made this mistake in early June, and we paid for it. Although we had a good time, we placed so much importance on Dragster, that when it never opened, we left with a sour taste in our mouth. Go and enjoy the best park in the East...and, if you're lucky, Race for the Sky!

This is the race that straps you into the driver's seat and counts down to GO!

I have learned to enjoy the park and not stand in line waiting for Dragster to open. Don't head over there until you see people on it. You can end up wiating a lot longer than 2-3 hours otherwise. If you are staying in a resort as you said you will get in at 9. Go to Millenium and you can ride it twice before the park opens to everyone else at 9:30. I also agree with getting freeway for Mantis as the line is panifully slow. You don't need Joe Cool if you are staying in a resort.
Do they give you a wristband or what to get in early?

no wristband, you get a little resort card that you show them at the front gate and they let you in at 9

I would also recommend 2 day ride and slide tickets from Meijer. They are about 60$ for cedar point and soak city for 2 days

Can you use that card on the day you check out? Because we are only staying for the night before we go to the park.

TTD never opens with the park if it opens at all, I've been there about 7 times so far and TTD was only running on two of those days, the first, it was down in the morn then got up running just in time for some rain, the second it would run for a few trains then be down then run for a few more then go down, so if it is open and you decide to get in line dont be picky on which seat you choose that could factor in if youll even get on, we were waiting for the front then it went down, then I figured screw it lets just get in the shorted one, good thing because I think it only launched a few trians then closed for the day. Also just because they say its scheduled to be in operation doesn't mean its going to run. the only good thing is if you are waiting in line and it goes down its a judgement call to wait, the good thing is that a lot of people tend to leave the line enabling you to move up, but you still may wait hours with the possibility of it not re-opening. As far as use of freeway, I usually use those for Mantis and WT, when the parks packed those two tend to be the slowest lines, I never get there early enough to grab a freeway stamp for MF but the line moves fast anyway.

I'd say if you see Dragster testing when you get there, get in line as quickly as possible, it will probably open soon. If not, head over to Millenium Force and do that first thing. If you're there anywhere near opening, your looking at the shortest lines of the day for it. Also try to do Mantis early if your interested. They only run 2 trains, and the line moves very slowly. I for one hate that ride. But if you feel the urge, try for it early.

Track Record: 62 coasters at 17 parks.

Do the early entrance passes still work on the day you check out though?
