This will be long, but I think I've proven that I am incapable of writing a short TR. Anyway, on with the show.
The Weather: About as close to perfect as you can get. Warm enough for shorts, yet cool enough for a jacket. You cant go wrong.
The Crowds: Hellafied! Put it this way, I waited
about 45min just to get a chicken strip dinner at the shack near MF/Mantis/ID. Still, very rarely did those long lines move slowly ('cept the food line, lol). I have since heard from Jeff's TR that admittance maxed out at around 45,000 *yikes*.
The Park: +4 to 4.5
As I have said before, CP is one of my three favorite parks along with PKI and SFGAm. I have yet to have a *bad* day here. Even when I thought that I was starting to feel bad on Saturday, I met up with first time Force riders, a fellow coasterbuzzer (Greg aka GregLeg) and some fellow Christians (Angie & Michelle) who all really lifted my spirits. Granted, maybe that shouldnt be attributed to the park, but hey, CP has done a good job of attracting folks from all walks of life. And obviously, they've created an atmosphere where people feel comfortable interacting with others. Kudos CP!
Enough about my personal emotional therapy, on to the coasters (again in order of riding using the EG -3,+5,0=okay scale)
Millenium Force: Intamin giga(hyper)coaster +4.2
Now really, did you think I would ride anything else first? I got to the causeway at about noon-12:15, it was almost 1pm when I actually got in the park. I went straight to the the big badass and planted myself in the 1.5 hr line.
While in line, this guy from Detroit and I were
chatting. Just before entering the station, we
decided to ride together. Suddenly, the ops ask "Any Singles" and we both decline. As the train prepares to depart, I notice that the one unfilled seat was at the very rear of the train....I was so sick that I passed that up =(

I got off that ride in a very somber mood.
Back to the original plans, I went over to my last
coaster fear:
Magnum X-L:200 - Arrow hypercoaster +3.5
A few times during my wait, the ride set-up. At least one of these times was due to someone whipping out a camera and taking pictures (an offense I am guilty of, but never been caught). Anyway, I saw this cat wearing a Knoebel's PPP shirt in line apparently by himself. He was quite a ways behind me. But I thought he must be another coaster nut. Also he looked strangely familiar, though at the time, I didnt know why. Back to the ride. I've never sat near the
front on Maggie, always to the rear. I decided to aim for the "poor man's front" (1.2). Well as I get up there, the ops announce that there is no wait for 1.3. So I say to myself, "Self, take the 'Really poor man's front'." Later, I was to find out that this is Maggie's so-called 'ejector seat'. I like ejector air. And Maggie's return trip produced plently of it. The only problem was the laterals in the pretzel (which was a tad shaky) and the intense ejections, only served to further the damage to my thigh that Villian started the night before *rubbing leg*. Still a fun ride.
The combination of the dissapointing MS ride, the
set-ups during my Maggie queue, and the aggravation of my thigh pain coupled with being alone, tempted me to leave the park (~5:30pm). However, something told me to wait for the guy in the PPP shirt. He came tear-assin out of the exit and was off. I didnt really know what to say to him so I kinda just stalked him for a moment (if the engineering thing doesnt work out I now know I can be a PI. lol). I didnt catch up with him until he stopped in the Gemini line. I struck up a convo regarding his shirt and found out he was our very own GregLeg, just getting to the park from the ACE festivities at SFO. So Greg and I decided to partner up for our ride on:
It gets a slightly positive rating because from my
last seat I felt one little pop of air. It doesnt get more than that because I dont recall it having a tunnel (REQUIRED for a good mine train duh!). Also, Arrow and its notorious transistions provided YET ANOTHER attack on my poor right thigh *sob*. I gotta stop riding on the 'drivers side' of these things =].
I guess I was generally headed back to MF with the
hope (should I say fantasy) that the line would have shrunk. It hadn't! So I went ahead and rode the one *semi*adult coaster in the park that I never rode before. This is where I met Michelle and Angie. Michelle, playfully condescending, asked if I was all by myself. I said yes, and she invited me to ride with them. They sat in the front and I sat in the back on:
Wildcat - Schwarkopf 'mad mouse' +2
Michelle, a true coaster fan, and Angie, a coaster
coward, both decided to ride with their eyes closed. Angie for fear, Michelle for fun. They both yelled loudly at the little dips, which were suprisingly potent. I was giggling my behind off at/with them. Very fun indeed.
It was getting late, and though Michelle couldn't talk Angie into getting on MF (no way, no day). There was one coaster in the park Angie did want to ride. So after about an hour-fifteen minutes worth of Holy-Spirit filled conversation. We strapped ourseleves in for a front seat flight on:
Raptor - B&M Invert +3
As I've said before, Raptor is a good, not great ride. I think the most special thing about this ride is the high-speed helix near the end. However, 'cept poppa beast, no helix is *that* great. I do like this ride a lot, and will take back my insinuation that any SLC is better. But I stand by my statement that all the other B&M inverts I've been on are better to me.
Well that about wraps up my 'pligrammage'. Webmaster/Admin - CoasterBuzz.com
While I was in line for Magnum, I saw someone in a GTTP shirt just ahead of me as I was waiting on the stairs going into the station.
Glad to hear you had a good time. Meeting up with a fellow coaster nut is always fun! Also good to see you decided to stick around for a while, and give Wildcat a try.
To give everyone who wasn't there an idea of how crowded Cedar Point was that day:
I got 10 rides at Six Flags Ohio (5 on Batman during the ERT, 4 on Villain during the ERT, then 1 lap on Superman after the ACE lunch). In under 3 hours, INCLUDING lunch AND stopping to buy a season pass for next year.
At that point I decided to hit Cedar Point for one last use of the Parking and Season passes. Where I proceeded to get 3 rides (Magnum, Gemini, and Millennium Force), plus dinner, in 5 hours, before deciding it was time to hit the road for the 3 hour journey home...
And you know what? Meeting up with 2Hostyl (who is a VERY interesting dude) and saying goodbye to CP for the season, made it completely worthwhile even with the limited number of rides I got... (And the fact that it was a Freebie, since the passes had long since paid themselves off, was another bonus on top of THAT ;) )
