CP Questions

I live in So Cal, and am going to Ohio on vacation this summer. I want to stay at the Breakers. How close is it to the park? Also, how far is Sandusky from PKI (driving time)? Does anyone know how crowded CP usually is in Late August? Thanks for your help!! It is much appreciated.

Home Park: Knotts Berry Farm!
but also Disneyland and DCA
Hey, just wanted to help you out with some of the questions. I am from Sandusky, so I can give ya some reliable information. Hotel Breakers is a great choice as far as accomodations go, it is right on point. You will have the beach at your feet and the coasters at your back... no driving or traffic involved. As far as late August goes... that is the busiest time of year. Sorry! I suggest a planned vacation during the week. Kings Island is a very long drive from Sandusky as we are right on the Lake and Cinci is at the Kentucky border. Driving time.. 5-6 hours. Hope it was helpful! Cedar Point truly is the greatest amusement park.... have fun!
Yeah, man. The Breakers is basically in the park! It can't be beat. Last two times I went, I woke up to Magnum staring at me through the window. After a long day at the point, it's great to just walk to your room! From Magnum, it's like a 30 second walk!

I live in Athens Ohio and PKI is almost on the same level as me. It's only a 4 hour drive or so to CP for me. So I would guess 5 hours for PKI to CP/vice versa. Wait, let me bring up a Lycos map.... http://maps.lycos.com/directions.asp?OAD2=&OAD3=Sandusky%2C+Ohio&DAD2=&DAD3=Cincinatti%2C+Ohio&Directions=Get+directions
Oh yeah! I was right! almost 5 hours! There ya go!

It depends on when you go in late August. The last two weeks of August the park is almost dead the first two is a different story...

Breakers is fabulous. There is no other place that can match the convenience. Hopefully you're staying two days because August us insanely crowded. I generally avoid the place that month.

Jeff,

I am not sure if you are seeing the same thing as me but notice how the formatting of this page is a little screwy. It stretches to a fixed width rather then resizing to the browser width. I think I have encountered this before. Just wanted to point this out.

I am using IE5 on the MAC

And now back to our regularly scheduled topic...

It's the long URL in the post above... Mac IE5 doesn't like those.

Actually, from CP to PKI takes between 4 and 4 1/2 hours. Last year Memorial Day weekend I drove from my friends house in Huron, stopped at PKI on my way home. The best way to go, I believe is route 6 to I-75. Then when you get to Cincy take 63 to 741. 741 turns into King's Mill Rd. Don't know if you're planning to make the trip, but there you go.

If you got to PKI in 4 hours from Sandusky you definitely deserve a speeding ticket!
