Date: October 11, 2003
Weather (after trying to look up through the people I think it was...) Sunny and 68'

Hello Scared Coaster Fans,

This picture says it all: Can we say busy?

For those that still need more:

This is going to be VERY Short. This was a day like closing Weekend 2000. The EXTRA EXTRA Parking Grass was even being used. If there was ground people parked in it (including ALL the Soak City and hotel parking lots). CP didn't know were to put all the people. We arrived at 5 and fought are way to Soak City. SOOooo Many people walking around.

Fought are way into the park by Magnum (and I really do mean fought and shoved.) ALL ques MAXED out (including carnival rides from what we saw.) Employees said TTD reached a 4 hour point. Line was full and then went outside, down, and past TTD station and then some. We just wanted to go for the haunted houses but that wasn't going to happen.

The midways were SOOOoo packed and we were tired of fighting through them after 30min. Shawna and I left. We talked to a few coaster friends and they said it seemed to be getting more busy since they have been there. All I can say for CP is WOW.

PS- Even ALL the guys restrooms had lines!

Wow, I'm going next Saturday and Sunday and that does not make it look good for Saturday. I hope that on Sunday it will be empty to make up for the crowds on Saturday.
I'm going the 19th next sunday. It will be my last trip for the year.

Holy cow!!! I have never seen CP that crowded ever! That picture definitely speaks for itself! What a change from last sunday when we went and MF was at max a 20 min wait, with even Dragster at about 30 min at some points. Wow!

EDIT: Friday? I don't know what you're talking about Legendairy, nobody here but us Sundays....

WOW! Yeah before I went (on Sept. 27) everyone kept telling me that I would have like 20 min wait for like Raptor and MF ....but when I got there the crowds were worse than they were in June!! (although they wern't NEARLY this bad). MF was bout 45min - 1 hr...and Raptor was 1.25 hr....but sill worth the trip!! :)
Mr. Nitrus,

We went last Sunday! Maybe all them Dragster rides got to your head? :-p

You suck big time.

Amazing, this picture definatly speaks for itself. Whatever you do, dont goto CP on a Saturday even on Halloweekends! Last Sunday I had a 20 min wait for TTD twice (just like Badnitrus).

------------------
I dont care what anyone says Magnum is better then MF, which is better then TTD!

Well I was at the park yesterday also!....but I dont have to wait in lines really...I go every weekend...with my friend and we have to go on saturdays...but sundays are pretty empty...I went Friday also and it wasnt much better...because alot of rides were closed so it wasnt too great....I dont have to wait in line because my friends' dad is handicapped so we get a time...but every saturday its getting more and more crowded...last week was nothing like yesterday!
I went as well.... definitly picked the worst possible day to go, especially when you gotta drive 4 hours to get there... I couldn't beleive my eyes!!
The weather has been freakin' BEAUTIFUL the past week. If it's 68 and sunny in mid-October, you can bet your bottom that CP is gonna be packed on the weekends! I just hope it is 40 degrees October 26th when I go...

Whatever you do, dont goto CP on a Saturday even on Halloweekends!

Not necessarily. The weekend before (10/4) the weather was overcast, occasionally dripping, and COLD. I don't think MF ever crested a one-hour line the entire day. The weekend before that had a lousy forecast (rain) but turned out great, and led to modest crowds as well.

During Halloweekends, the weather seems to play an inordinately large role in determining crowd levels. I went during last year's Indian Summer and it was similarly nuts.

I was there yesterday. Dragster was running pretty well. I didn't see one roll back all weekend. The dispatches weer about 30 seconds. The lines were short Friday though. I got three Dragster rides all weekend. Only one on Saturday.

Crowed is not even the word for Sat 11th. I was there. Got there about 11:45am and was filling up quick. By 4pm it was time for me to go took 20min to get out of the parking lot. The cars were lined up all the way to Rt.6 in both lanes to get in. I'm a local. I live1hr. away. I've been going to CP for ohh at least 15+ yrs now and I have never seen anything like it before. When we left every quake and excess quakes were filled up with people standing on midways. It was like CP was giving away free admissions or 1million dollars. Everyone was there.
I'm sure Brent would have enjoyed that. ;)

If I was part of a coaster, I would be an upstop pad on an Arrow Mine Train.
MAGNUM HAD MY BABY!

OH MY GOD, I'm going to CP next week and orginally was planning to go Friday and Saturday, but I have now opted to go Saturday and Sunday, I knew the saturday was going to be busy but if its going to be anything like that picture then its going to be crazy I feel. Hopefully the sunday will make up for it though.

incidently, why are sundays never busy at that time anyway on a special event???I would have thought it would be about the same crowd level wise on those days but according to reports, obviously not, Do People not like visiting parks on Sunday or something

Yikes! What a picture! I heard it was extremely crowded on Friday night too. With the somewhat crappy weather that CP has been having (especially on Friday nights) the past few weeks I guess everyone decided to take advantage of the nice weather this weekend.

<----looking forward to a *dry* closing weekend :-)

Gimme speed, height, airtime and plenty of LAUNCH!!!

From what I heard, CP had the largest crowd on Saturday in 7 years (said by a desk clerk at one of the resort hotels). At one point I heard 65,000 (said by a ride-op) and then this morning someone said 74,000 (said by a season pass holder) so take it for what's it worth . My husband was talking to a guy (while I waited 45 minutes for nachos and water) and he said it took them an hour to get across the causeway and then another 30 minutes just to park. They were parking people anywhere they possibly could.

The place was off the hook and it actually was quite comical. Fight Zone was so bottle-necked they finally got smart and made it only one-way. You had to start at the back of the park and walk toward MF. Being a woman, to see lines for the men's bathroom was priceless. We got more rides in this morning in two hours than we did all day yesterday.

Friday night was also fairly busy, but wasn't bad. We had a 40 minute wait for Dragster, which I was happy with. And the Dragster crew was kickin' it all weekend. I can honestly say I've never seen the park that busy before. It was just insane.

I was there and I agree, this was the worst day to go, 2 hour waits on almost everything and seeing the parking lot so full when I went on the Space Spiral I was amazed. I had planned on leaving at 4 to get my hotel key and coming back, but the line attendant at the magnum entrance said, if you leave, don't expect a parking space when you come back. So needless to say I stayed at the park, although I did get to go on the mos the attractions I wanted instead of TTD (sorry just not worth the 4-5 hour wait), Raptor, Mantis and Wicked Twister. I also got to check out Werewolf Canyon and since I got in the line at a lil before 7, the wait was only an hour and a half and will say it was great cause you couldn't see anything. Although Fright Zone would have been coll, had someone not fell and broke theri leg makin everyone having to go back the other way which sucked, so had a great time, but geez just too crowded.

I was there. It was unbelieveable. The lines for the food stands was just as long as the rides. Got there early at 11:45am, renewed my season pass (still not a very organized place), got 2 spins on Wicked Twister in 10 minutes, got my MF hand stamp, got back and walked onto Mean Streak, then the crowd got there, and there were no lines shorter than 1 hour on most of the big rides. The picture above is no lie. Talked to some guy in line for Dragster who says he works on this site, but never got his name. Nice fellow though. Dragster was running good all day. Got off of it on my second spin around 10:30pm, and it broke down 2 trains afterward. I never saw it run again. Anyone ride after 10:30?? Left park after a 15 minute line for Mantis at 11:45. Thought I would be stuck in parking lot all night. Jumped in car at 12:15am and it took me 5 minutes to get to 250. Not gonna complain, because being in line was the norm of the day, except escaping. Another successful season for CP.
