CP (Instead of PKI shoot) 5/16/02

Associated parks:
None

Hola

Well after the dissapointment of not being able to hit Sonny today (I will in a couple weeks when I go again anyway, thank goodness for season passes) my friend Matt and I decided to chance the weather and hit CP.

We got there about 10:15 and the front of the park was just packed with kids doing Physics experiments. But as always as we walked towards Maggiw the crowd thinned out.

No Maggie this morning as I think it was too windy. So we hit Gemeni, only red train was running and we got in a nice trimless ride. Does anyone else notice how smooth the helix feels with no brakes?

Next we went to Mean Streak back seat of the yellow train gave us a very good ride. The trim's on the first drop were just barely, barely hitting and we got a very fast ride ride with good laterals and even some air. On my scale of MS rides I gave it a 4.5 out of 5 and i put the matches away for now.

Next the Mine Ride always fun, and even more fun when you act like it is the scariest coaster in the world. =P

Next we took a walk towards Millie and it was closed, but low and behold as soon as we got there it opened and we walked right onto the thing. Yellow train was on the tranfer track with water dummies in it and they were working on it the wheels, perhaps a change. We got an awesome ride in the back seat of the blue train, such massive floater air it was unbelievable. Seemed to be runnning noticebly faster then opening day. Then we ran back through line and waited for the front this time, almost gotr to the front when we had about 20 minutes of downtime, it seems the catch wagon wouldn't catch. We waited and got an awesome front seat ride anyway. So fast it was unbelievable. Monty Jasper was on the platform as we exited I told him tahnx for giving us such great reports on WT this winter.

Next up was Mantis. The trims are back on and I don't like this ride anyway so ya know how that went.

Then Draggin Iron, and wildcat followed by the new and improved version of Blue Streak. A fast, airtime, and lateral filled ride in the backseat. They just did wonder's with this ride this winter.

Next up, Wicked Twister in the backseat, I love the feeling of getting sucked down a drain =P. Just as intense as last time. Got our hand stamped after the ride to come back, but no lines were over 20 minutes all day.

We hit up Disaster transport which was a fun and relaxing ride as always. The new effects really makes things more fun again. Next back to Wicked twister in the front seat, very cool but it just doesn't have what the back seat does. As Jeff says, "You don't get screwed in the rear."

By this time it's time to eat and we go to Johnny Rockets and had a very good meal at a fun restaraunt.

Then we see, MAGGIE IS UP. We head over there and got a ride in 1-3. Aweome ejector air as always, and then we ran around a again and hit the back seat, great floater air this time and raindrops hitting us at 72 MPH.

We then head over to Woodstock Express a fun little ride that I thought was better then the Mine Ride, I rode in the locomotive. Then Gemeni for another ride and this time the trims were on but still good. Then Corkscrew, and Power tower up. (Brent really doesn't like down)

Then we see more great news, Raptor was now running. We head over there and get an awesome intense flight right side back seat. Then the finale of the day.

Millie in the backseat again, and this time in the rain runnning so much faster then it was in the morning and another powerful floater air filled ride.

By this time it was 5:45 and we were ready to go home, and get this as soon as we hit the parking lot TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR all the way home. I think someone felt sorry for us missing the Sonny shoot.

We had a great time and the longest wait was 20 minutes, you just can't beat that, and wew turned a bad situation into a lot of fun.

Until Next Time

I walk over to MF it closes, you walk over it opens. Hmphh :( :(

Boy, It's nice to hear that MF seems to be running much better now. I hoped to visit the park this weekend, but with the crap weather that appears to be moving in...... we'll see.

BTW, nice report!

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

LOL it was up the majority of the day besides the morning, when was it down when you got there?

Darn! Raptor must've opened just after we left! We stuck by Millie in the morning until she opened and got two great rides in the back seat. I got 3 great rides on WT, 2 in the back seat, one in 6-4 where I got floater time on the forward spike. Unfortunately, my 6'5" hubby didn't fit into WT's seats. We skipped Mantis. Hit Maggie, Power Tower, Mean Streak, Draggin Iron, and Blue Streak, had a late lunch at Midway Market, and booked out about 3:30. Guess we were lucky that we managed all the coasters except Raptor. Except for the morning waiting for Millie, we missed the downtime on everything else.

I think it was around 1:30ish when I went over. At that point I just said screw this and left.

I saw them testing the catchcar earlier I think, so you must have been in line for the front seat. Glad to hear it's better, warm weather does a coaster good.
