CP Halloweekends Questions

Heading to the Point this Sunday and I was wondering is the Soak City Parking Lot still available and does the park still open a half an hour before the offical opening time like it does in the summer?

Yes to both questions.
Yes, the Soak City parking lot will be available to park in. You can also enter the park half an hour before the rest if you have Joe Cool Club and or are a CP Hotel guest. Though, this time of year it can all depend on the weather (it got below freezing at CP last night) on if they will have the coasters running in time for it. This weekend will be VERY COLD up there. Make sure to take a warm hat and gloves for the coasters! Enjoy your trip!

Yea I do like going on Sundays on Halloweekends usually I make my weekly trip on Saturday due to football after school friday and sunday gotta get home for school, but last week i went on sunday, and got on all 16 coaster in about 4 hours (I also rode TTD front row, Back row, and also had a rollback) really the only 2 rides in the park that had lines were MF and TTD (MF about 10-15 min wait and TTD 45 min wait)
Why3289 thats awesome, hopefully it will be as dead this week for me :)

Another question, is it usually THIS cold this time of year at CP? I'm going next weekend and have never been before during the fall season. I know here in WNY we are supposed to get a bit of an "Indian summer" late next week and Im hoping that it continues on into Ohio...

"You think you know me..."

Definatly not, Coaster to Coaster the average high is in the upper 60s for early October but this is the midwest so anything can happen. This is the region where it can snow in May and have highs in the 70s in Feburary. Luckly the weather keeps on improving this weekend, Wednesday the forcast called for rain and a high of 42, as of right now the forcast is calling for partly cloudy skies with a high of 54 so Im happy it has improved. Just keep your eyes on the forcast, dress appropriatly and hope for the best. The Point will deliver regardless of the weather!

Does anyone here know the best time of the year to go to Cedar Point, other then Halloween season. Im planning a trip for next year and on Memorial day weekend i was going. Its like 2 weeks after it originally opens. Is that a good time?
Sometime between May and October. ;)

Ok this is going to sound dumb, but can anyone just park at the Soak City parking lot and purchase tickets there also. Also if you can how do you get to the SC parking lot? I've never parked there and have always had a huge line and hassle at the front gate with so many people stading there and taking so long to get to TTD or MF from there.

The Jokes on You!! Ha Ha

Is the park really busy on Saturdays? I think I might go next weekend... what should I expect?
JokerCoaster, yes you can there is an enterance to the park near Magnum and you can buy tickets at all enterances. The reason I wanted to know if the lot was open is because that enterance happens to be the closest to TTD, which of course would be my first stop.

To get there go to the parking ticket booth on the far left and tell them you want to park in the Soak City lot. You then drive around the park on a road that borders the shore, its really easy the key is makeing sure you go to the ticket booth on the far left.

Touchdown - So what you're saying is, Its possible to get in the the Magnum extrance even if you're not a hotel guest??? I'm wondering because I'm going back to CP in just under 2 weeks and my dad will be dropping me off by the entrance but not going into the park so is it actually possible to just walk round to that entrance, buy a ticket and get in that way???

thanks for any help

I was just there this past weekend (well Friday & Saturday). I can't comment on the Marina entrance for we stayed at Breakers Express and had passes to get into the park early each day. However, with no rain on Saturday, the park was about a 15 - 30 minute wait on the 'other' coasters with TTD being 2 - 3hrs all day (lucky I had coastermainia passes) and MF was around an hour or so.
The marina entrance might be easier, since I think you need a pass to get to the hotel side. If you clear the first gate, your dad can drop you off on the marina side no problem.

You could also try to explain your situation to the gate attendant. A friend and I were dropped off at SFA a month or so ago by my parents, and they didn't have to pay for parking since they were just dropping us off.

"You're afraid of heights, but you love roller coasters...yep, you're weird alright."
A friend's response to my constant yelling at the top of Power Tower. And I'll ride it again and again...:)

Thanks for that Thunderstorm. I will remember that, Incidently I think that last time I went to CP and when my dad dropped me off at the gate, they just charged us the toll fee for using the bridge(so 50cents I think) and let us off the parking fee since he was dropping he off so we will remember it again. I will remember to try to use the marina entrance, but this is entrance easier for Dragster?????

Incidently, I'm now going to CP on Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday, People say sundays on halloweekends are pretty empty and that tempts me a lot as I want to try and get as many rides on Dragster as I can so hopefully I will get lucky by making this change.

Cant believe I will be there next week too, I'm looking forward to it, Dragster here I come :)

I am positive you will have the time of your life, and who knows, you might get lucky and get a rollback. ;-)

Sunday Halloweekends are the best. I will be there the entire closing weekend.

<----still hoping for a rollback of her own. ;-)

How did saturday turn out? I was there sunday. Heard several guests complaining about crowdedness of park, and traffic backups from rt 250 to the causeway. Then the captain from Paddlewheel apologizes to guests that were there on saturday, and claims it was the busiest day in four years. Over 56,000 peeps.
