CP finally puts to rest the annoying "Sinking Magn

Check out CP's Magnum webpage, (http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/magnum.cfm) scroll down to the blue box near the bottom, it appears CP has tired of the "Magnum is sinking" phenomen as much as we have :)

I never noticed it on the Magnum Page, but that line has been on the FAQ pages for years. Remember Magnum is now only 204 feet tall.

A silver tag that used to post on GTTP from time to time said that they started the rumour in an employee newsletter years ago, in an April Fool's Day kind of way. It somehow festered into fact.

And people wonder why I challenge everything that's said on the Internet.

True that. I knew the person that wrote the story. All these years later I still get a laugh out of the "legs" the rumor had.

Rumors have legs when they are not too far of a stretch to believe. Sinking structures are not uncommon. But, of course, MF ain't. In fact, Cedar Point, along with the rest of that part of the continent, is slowly rebounding from the last ice age.

When was the last height check done? someone above (too lazy to scroll up) said it is only 204 ft. now. if it isn't sinking, i was just wondering how this is possible
