CP 2006 track? (not really, it's a swing piece)

I think this ride will be more enjoyable than what most enthusiasts think, and there's no doubt in my mind it will be a major crowd pleaser. Its no roller coaster, but it will be a nice break from CP's normal line-up.

I just hope WWL isn't missed too much. I don't know CP very well, but if WWL has any of the backing that Antique Cars had at PKI, it can't be good that it will probably be removed.

Why do so many people want to see a flyer? I mean, I've been on both the Vekoma and B&M variety and I could do without both. Interesting gimmick, but they mostly suck to ride. No thanks.

I can think of about 30 other types of coasters I'd rather see installed at Cedar Point than a B&M Flyer. I've never understood the allure either.
Put me in that category too. The only thing I remember about Superman is how painful the Pretzel Loop was (spine pain?) and how boring the rest was.

I would like to see a floorless still be put in... something along the range of Dæmonen at Tivoli Gardens...

Inversions, but still small and fun.

My opinion, I like to see that Cedar Point is adding more flats... but why a non-spinning maXair? Oh well. Not going to lose any sleep over it.

Unlike some other people...

To tell you the truth, it's because I've never been on one before ;)

But I think it would be a lot of fun if it was located in Frontiertown and weaved in and out of the MF island.

You guys just think Flyers suck because SFMM is getting one...

Fanboys.

:)

I like flyers because, to me, they're fun. Yes, even *if* SFMM and it's royal suckitude is getting one.
Oh, I've been on all of the Flying Dutchman, and will ride at least one Beemer next year. Fun? Sure. I like the Vekoma ones. But still, I don't think that a Flyer is what I'd want added to any park, truth be told.

And Gonch, I also think they suck because SFA has one, and, you know, they suck too... ;)

With all the speculation on where the Screamin' Swing will go, this ride will NOT need a very large area to be installed. Kennywood's 36 seat model is being 'shoehorned' into a very tight space. I can't imagine that the 40 seat model will need that much more room. Could there actually be something else in the works in Frontier Town, possibly for 2007, if not for 2006? Given all the 'signs' of construction markings all over Frontier Town, it just seems that this is much too large an area for just a Sreamin' Swing addition. Just my opinion...

I'd RATHER see a Vekoma Dutchman than the B&M Flyer. I never truly experienced the B&M, but just the overall layout & style of B&M kind of turns me off and I really liked how Vekoma did theirs. I like going up the lift on my back and then being flipped over after the turn around. The loading procedure (if it was perfected) appears to be better since it loads like a normal sit-down coaster (albeit, with more restraints).

I hope it's not just a fad [the flying coasters] because I'd like to see a new Vekoma flyer appear somewhere else (anywhere) with a new original layout.

As for Cedar Po!nt, I'd really like to see more than 1 ride next year if it's going to replace Wild Water Landing. One of their 3 water-rides is going to be replaced with a swinging ride... that'll be missed (by me), as they had two log rides at one point (before Raptor), and now they will have none.

I hate flyers. Yes, they do make you feel like you are flying (only if you are in the front seat), but they are just too short and too uncomfortable. I think there are many problems. First, as the case is in SFGA, the operator's laziness can result in line times of over 2 hours. Second, there needs to be a loading station and an unloading station, to keep the lines going. I found it very uncomfortable waiting in the brake run as the train ahead of me was loading up. The coaster itself wasn't all that great, real short, not enough thrill.

As for CP and 2007, I have a hunch we will see a new coaster. Think about it, 2007 will mean 4 years since the placement of CP's newest coaster, and that's too long for CP not to put one in. It's not going to be a flyer. CP seems to pride themselves on instaling unique rides, or variations of rides. If they do put in a flyer, it won't be a Six Flags clone, it'll be a good one. I think what will go in will be along the lines of a 4-D coaster, or a coaster that breaks the 500 foot mark. CP has an act for being the first to break each mark since Magnum, so why should they forget about being the first to hit 500?

I plan on going in 2007, so there better be something new.

Who here thinks that CF has taken interest in the B&M dive machine now that BGT has Sheikra? I've read nothing but raves about that ride. Would make for another mine themed attraction in Frontiertown.

I disagree. I really liked X Flight at Geauga Lake. There was not one thing I didn't like about it. Good horseshoe, loop, double twist and helix.

There has been some grumblings that BGT did indeed put some sort of exclusivity clause in the contract that prevents B&M from building a dive machine in the US for a certain amount of time. This would make sense to me but take all of it with a grain of salt.

If it did come to pass just don't count on any below grade drops at Cedar Point. I'm sure they could engineer it, despite the high water table (think SFNE's Superman) but we're talking plenty of moolah here for not a ton of benefit. Not that CP doesn't mind throwing money around when need be, who knows. :)

So Walt, are we getting PVC: The Ride, then?
I agree with not getting a flyer, they are a bit crowded as far as space, which would make it perfect for the back of the park, but its still gonna be interesting to see where they actually put the swing. Flyers i do like however, but i have only been on a Dutchman, so with that being said if they were ever going to put in a B&M it would be a new experience for this buzzer at least, but wheres the wood coasters at in the park, i brought that one up a long time ago.

I would rather see them have *some* sort of log flume, either WWL or another one, going forward. It's one of the rides in the park that the entire family can ride together---if it's just replaced with one with (what I assume will be) a significant height requirement, that'd be unfortunate. It's especially unfortunate in that area of the park, because WWL and Antique Cars are just about the only things back there for the younger set.

So, if WWL is going to the Ride Graveyard, I'm hoping another family-friendly ride goes in back there soon.

The answer to where this is going, is not the back, but you will be staring at it, when you walk into the park. Slightly past the bathrooms to your right. Right behind the shop and the donut place, yes my friends, demon drop remember will be no more, so its seems logical, the markings dont mean anything in the back, its too spread out unless they go behind or take out the area occupied by the haunted house pavillion. Does that work?
