We knew going into this weekend was going to incur dealing with the rain...but with the low temps and wind, it made for a crazy weather driven coaster experience.

Friday
We got into our cottage at Campers village Friday afternoon with a few hours before the park opened and had enough time to get unpacked and situated before taking the shuttle over to the Marina Gate. A quick little jog later and we were on our first MF ride of the weekend. Next we hit raptor (walk-on). We were going to hit blue streak next but it closed for mechanical reasons. Off to Power Tower where only the 2 up towers were working. (I didn't see the drop towers working all weekend). Magnum was a walk on as well. But Gemini only had the blue side working and the wait was close to 30 minutes all weekend.

Saturday
Dragster was down on Friday and Saturday which meant that everyone was over at MF. The hand stamps for MF helped out a lot for Saturday night. (6-7 and 7-8). Saturday mornings MF started out late because the ops still had to take the LBD's (Load Bearing Dummies) off of 2 of 3 trains and the ride ops still needed to take their complimentary rides. 1 Hour wait for 3rd train front row was still not bad. Here's the kicker though. I couldn't fit in the test chair but could easily fit on MF with 2"'s of slack. What gives?
We took a little break and picked up the rest of our party and rendezvoused over at Magnum. We did 5 consecutive runs in a hour. Gemini was still a wait so we went over to Mean Streak and did a front row. (15 minute wait). We took the train from MS to MF and got the hand stamps. The line for MF was close to 2 hours so we skipped on that and went to Mantis and did a back row (1st time!) Those G’s rip your legs apart! We were going to hit Raptor again but had noticed that it didn’t fire up all day. We finally got on to Blue Streak and did a front row. What a blast. I Love this ride. I think I picked up a pretzel with cheese next to the Sky-Ride and was pleasantly surprised. I don’t usually rate park food that high but this one had some kind of buttery spray on it. YUM! When was the last time you rode Demon drop and they asked for singles? That’s how crowded it was. (15 minute wait). This thing just sounds evil. Great ride! We bought our season passes for next year while we were down by the main gate and got the GL add-on for $26. Nice to know that all of this processing is done off season so the passes will be available for use at any CF park in the spring. All 4 towers of Power Tower are down, ½ of Gemini, Dragster, and now the whole reason we wanted to go today…Warewolf Canyon is down and won’t be up because of the rain.

Sunday

With a chill in the air and the wind gusting…all hope was lost for Dragster. So we slept in skipping the AM rush to MF. And then…all of a sudden…they started testing TTD. We are so fast to check out of Camper Village it’s not even funny. Running over to TTD, we notice a line outside of the entrance. It’s closed for mechanical reasons. 45 minutes later it’s back up in running. My wife and I ride back row. AWESOME! She decides to take a break and I’m back in line. An hour later I’m in the back seat of green riding as a single and get a rollback with a relaunch!. My lucky day has finally come. I know now that no matter what happens…my trip to CP was complete. I ended up getting onto TTD once more, 2 Twisters, a front seat Raptor, another demon drop, a MF, and at least 10 more Magnums that day. I can’t wait for next spring!

Good TR. I wish I had a roll-back when I was there last week. Maybe next year...

^__- hm, you were there the exact same time i was. it was pretty cold, wasn't it?

Wet on Friday. Windy beyond belief on Saturday. And Sunday...it felt like snow. But short lines at rides make up for it.
^^ Was it seriously neccesary for you to paste the entire TR on your post?

Good TR- glad you got on a rollback...see, i know you were there all weekend, but what about the folks that visited just on Saturday?...everything closed and all, must have been a frustrating day for them...

It sure was windy and cold Sunday. When I pulled into the park, I thought that the big rides might be down because of the wind. I took some first timers and we had a blast. Didn't get on TTD though. We were working our way up to it and it broke down later in the day. Nice Tr.

#1 Steel: Sky Rush
#1 Wood: Voyage
#1Park: Holiday World

It was below 40' for a good chunk of Sunday morning, keeping Gemini closed until almost noon, if memory serves. (We had to stick it out, since my daughter picked Gemini as her "last ride of the season" ride.)

I can't for the life of me figure out why (a) Gemini had such a horrendous wait all weekend, and (b) they never bothered to fire up the red side.

We drove out from NY this past weekend too. Fri night was rainy, but the lines were incredibly short. The $5 ponchos did the trick! WT was a walk on and we took major advantage, and other than TTD most everything rn all night. Sat no rain, but even colder and there were actually lines for everything. Everything was not closed all day, just TTD, Raptor and 1 side of Gemini. Power Tower closed later in the day. If you got through the cold and rain, the rest was all good. Unfortunately we left Sun morning and my kids never got to try TTD :(
Power Tower can not run in temps below 40from what I hear, winds over 30 will cause Raptor to valley, Mantis is far enough inland and situted right it is not effected. Dragster same thing, a cross wind that strong can kill quite a few MPH, just drive across the Edison bridge at 65.
