CP 8/1

We arrived at the park shortly after 5:30 and just made our way back to MF. We got in line for that and only suprisingly waited and hour for it. We got the fourth seat back. After riding MF we made our way to Mean Streak, we rode this and I was once again dissappointed slightly. Shortly after riding MS we went to Gemini. This is when I just noticed something about the trains, they don't have up-stop wheels, they have fiber up-stop pads. After getting our dose of Gemini we headed back to MF to get just one more ride in the dark. God I love that Coaster. Right after riding MF for the second time, we headed over to MF's predecessor Magnum. Got a great view of Vertigo, but there was no vehicle on the pad yet. We got some good air and then we headed to Power Tower. To close out the night we hit the Blue Streak and then we headed home. Overall a great day, did'nt see any land clearing, but I did talk to the ride attendant that I had talked to before about 2002, and he said that he has heard the same rumors that I have.

CP in 2002, get to the point
Is Mean Streak really slow or is it rough? I may be going there in 2002 and I downloaded a front seat ride and it looks extremely fast.

its smooth imho... at least for an old woodie...
its speed?
Sfne guy, the POV you seen is probably the one before they put the trims on the drop. Now it is very slow, and some-what rough.

"If everything seems undercontrol, you're not going fast enough!"
It never picks up speed?
The Mean Streak's first drop is not as good because the brakes are applied while you are going down the drop. It is very disappointing. The rest of the ride is cool, because it is a fairly long ride and sometimes you are not sure where you are exactly, but I wish it has a couple long tunnels.

And yes it picks up speed throughout the ride, then they have more brakes to slow you down again.

well theres that other woodie that CP is supposed to get in 2002. [Fire Streak].
hey nick, why didnt you ride Raptor???
Yeah, I would have thought that if you went all the way back to Blue Streak, that you would have been tempted to ride that great, green, thrill machine, Raptor.

Mean Streak really suprised me when I rode it a few days ago. I thought it was pretty fast. I also didn't notice the heavy braking everyone talks about. Unfortunately, I rode it in the morning and had a headache the rest of the day.
I just got back from Cedar Point and I thought that was the worst coaster there. The brakes almost completely stopped the train going down the drop and the rest of the ride was really really shakie and rough.

I rode MS last Thursday (8/2) in the very front. The ride was closed most of the day, and they didn't open it until around 7pm. From the front seat, I saw alot of the track, and the way the ride handled, and both my brother and I felt that the coaster was about to fall apart or derail. This is in addition to the slow pace which comes from the brake runs on the first hill. Each of the 3 trains that they ran had roped off seats that were broken, including the first seat in one of the trains. I was extremely disappointed, but also somewhat scared, to be honest. It was the only ride that I held on to the bars in front of me, not because I thought it would make the ride any more safe, but to at least feel more secure.

Hey, I was there that day too! Got on as soon as it opened. I thought it was kinda slow actually. Perhaps it was because of the tame hills.

That was a great day, for crowds...I rode MF 5 times...shortest wait, 30 minutes, longest wait 75. And Raptor was only a 15 minutes wait most of the day.
