County lawmakers eliminate Playland entry fee for residents

Westchester County lawmakers eliminated an entrance fee at Playland Amusement Park for Westchester residents. The Board of Legislators, by an 11-6 vote, Monday night agreed to get rid of the $5 fee for residents and to cut the $10 cost for nonresidents in half.

Read the comments after the article. The two that caught my eye concern the carousel operator that couldn't stand to listen to the band organ, so she shut it off running the ride silent. She would have been history if it were my operation.

I bet actually making the park entry free for county residents and reducing the out of county entrance fee will actually more than pay off in the volume of people going to the park IF word gets out about it.

And about the carousel operator .... What is a carousel without carousel music? LOL!
