UPDATE: The developer of the Wild Escape amusement park changed course Tuesday and sent documentation to city officials to indicate that he is close to getting the needed money. Under an agreement with the city, Steve Minard, president of Papa's Park LLC, had until the close of business Tuesday to furnish proof that he had secured the first $12.5 million in financing for the park.

One article says that he missed the deadline, the other says that he made it (sort of). Without some real details, I think that we really have no idea.

The first one was published yesterday, the second was published today.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

Even the second article though says things like he is "close" to getting the money and "going through final review". Both of those are a long way from having signed commitments. However, the second article later indicates that a government official said that the developer had the commitments. It all sounds rather uncertain.

For the purpose of that deadline, he only needed to show he had the first $12.5 million, and he has that. The "close" remark I think had to do with getting the total amount to finance the project.

Jeff is correct. He met the deadline and is close to proving he has the total financing lined up.
