Could RCT3 becausing some problems on my PC?

Some time ago I loaded a few games on my PC with no problems. I recently tried to reload them and they failed to load. Some that were still sitting on my C drive I tried to run and they failed to run.

The only thing really different between the time these games were loaded and now is that RCT3 and Soaked are now loaded (they were the only things loaded between the last time the other games worked / were loaded and now).

I'm running Windows XP.

The error that I am coming up with is:

"16 bit Winodws Subsystem | C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microstof Windows Applications."

I'm grasping at straws here. Since the only major change between the last times these games worked and now has been the installation of RCT3 and Soaked, I am just trying to either pin point this install as the culprit or else eliminating it as the possible cause of the problem.

Has anyone else encountered this? And even if it is not caused by RCT3, has anyone else run into it and if so, any ideas on what was the cause / solution?

Thanks.

I doubt this is related to RCT3. The problem you are describing sounds like something more along the lines of a known issue with XP's Service Pack 2.

You are missing the Auto.exe file in the windows system 32 file. It's really easy to repair.

My Beautiful wife, Julia, is the best thing that has ever happened to me!

I was grasping at straws on RCT3 beign the cause. As I said, that was the only major change since the last time those old programs ran.

Did a YAHOO! search and found Microsoft's suggested solution (copy Autoexe.nt file from REPAIR folder and paste into WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder).

Did that and works fine now.

But I am not sure what RCT3 will do...

Okay, let me say that my system runs RCT3 with no problems. That was not always the case.
The first time i loaded it, I had problems a'plenty. the major problem was: Once loaded, none of my other games worked at all. I got the subsystem error, the OpenGL error.
Games: Battlefield 1942, Wolfenstien, MOHAA,RCT1-2 went bye-bye. Hell, even Oregon Trail 5 didn't work.
All those games worked great before i loaded rct3.
the fix? A major Upgrade solved the problem, but the tech said that RCT3 had a tendency todo that to systems.

This game causes many problems among many PC's mine was only a driver issue the generic one set for my computer by XP didn't include the Direct X files, but the default driver on my original disk contains everything I needed. Then it operated to a bareable level. Its just an odd game.
^^ You should update your driver to the most recent version. Go to the website of the card (www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com) and download the latest one for your card. That should fix a lot of your problems.
yea, the most recent version screwed my computer up, so yea I'm happy with what came with the disk, everything now works just fine.
