Costumed Tigger accused of hitting boy

Posted | Contributed by supermandl

A Walt Disney World employee dressed as the character "Tigger" was accused of hitting a child while posing for a photo, a spokeswoman for the theme park said Saturday. Park officials temporarily suspended Michael J. Fedelem while they investigate the accusations. The father supplied a video tape of the incident.

I'm sorry, but I don't see it. I see a kid jumping around like a jackass and hanging on the character, and the character turning around to see what's going on.
When I watch it, I see Tigger grabbing the kid's left arm in an arm bar then swinging his (Tigger) left hand to the kid's head...
That's one of the not-so-wonderful things about Tigger. ;)
The boy is obviously laughing at it all. Looks like some playing around to me.

I bet the father just smelled some cash from suing once he saw the video.

I wonder if Disney will sell: Our Tigger Beat Up Your Honor Student t-shirts.
Hell, I'd buy one.
We see these stories all the time. Will they ever get old? I laugh every time like it's a good fart joke! By the way...Tigger giving an arm bar was one of the better lines CB has seen in a long time! I think the line was meant in humor...but if heartfelt...it is even funnier.
I don't think this is as serious as its being made out to be either. But just reading one of the related headline videos. Call me what you will be just readin this video headline makes me laugh.

"Tigger, a Disney character known for his high jumps and ferocious speed, punched a boy from New Hampshire in the face."

The fact that they choose to say punched a boy, state where the kid was from then followed by "in the face" is humorous to me. Its like they leave you hanging at the end.

^^"Tigger, a Disney character known for his high jumps and ferocious speed, punched a boy from New Hampshire in the face."

"in the face..."

Written by the people who brought you the news of Dick Cheney's hunting trip... ;)

I dont see how this at all could be investigated as an assualt!!
To assault someone you have to do it intentionally, and where in the video does it show that Tigger just punched the boy??
Jeff has it right on the money in rregards to what happened.
This is another case of a sue happy family going to the police and media for attention beofre they threaten to sue disneym knowing they will get something as disney doesnt want any more bad PR than they are already getting.
I just saw a interview with the kid, his father and their attorney. They said they decided to bring the kid to the hospital afterwards to check him out, and the kid is claiming his neck hurts now and that he is taking medicine for the pain.

The kid was obviously not hurt by the "punch" in the video. They are really fishing for money.

I agree! And after watching the video with the fathers comments I could only think one thing. Tigger attacked the wrong person, he should've went for the dad.

I like the title they had for the article on one news service. "When Disney characters attack!". I wish I was kidding.

This whole thing is so stupid it is funny. When you look at the video, it appears the kid has his arm behind Tigger and is doing something behind his back. I wonder if he was pulling on his tail or trying to knock his costume head forward. Still Tigger over reacted and should not have struck back. It did look like Tigger hit the kid in the face. Where was the other Disney employee who is supposed to be supervising and controlling the crowds with the characters? Even though Tigger should not have pushed the kid, the family should have let it go at that. Hiring an attorney? Taking the kid for medical attention? COME ON! I run an ER. If that kid had shown up in my ER, I would have put a 24-hour hold on him, called Tigger to the ER, and let Tigger give him a real *****-slapping. If they're going to sue Disney, you might as well let Tigger get his money's worth!

They played this vid on WGN Ch.9 here in Chicago this morning. Those on the show said that this whole thing is ridiculous. They couldn't see any intentional ill will at all from Tigger. What a joke.
^And I believe the family is starting to realize this, possibly by being informed from an attorney. Now all they want is an apology from Disney.

Seems the possibility of getting money is now out and they are just trying to save face and not look money hungry .

Watched the vid a few times and that kid was definitely doing something to the Tigger suit from behind. The reaction of the guy playing Tigger did nothing serious to him. If he wanted to deck the kid, that kid would have lost balance and fell.

I watched the video and it was a gentle slap at best. No red marks on the kid at all. The parents over-reacted and saw dollar signs when they saw this playful slap. I agree sws, I would taken the kid out back and gave him something to sue over. There was no need to call in a lawyer and go through all of this. Just like in the last suite a year or so ago, where they claimed that Tigger gropped a young lady.
Suggested apology from Disney: "We're sorry you're a bunch of a***o*es. We're also sorry that we're not going to allow anywhere near any of our properties again."

Here is a better video of the whole thing.

What cracks me up, is the fact that the dad took the teen to the hospital. You have got to be kidding me. Tigger more or less, just bumped into the teen. So every time he bumps into someone he rushes his kid to the hospital? What a p*$$*!3.
