Costume characters laid off at Six Flags Elitch Gardens

Kellen Owens, who had roamed Elitch Gardens as the lovable dog since June, said he was laid off this week, along with friends who worked as Tweety, Bugs Bunny, Petunia the Piglet, Wile E. Coyote and others. "They told us it was budget cuts," said Owens, 18, who was at the park on Thursday with friends. "Six Flags is running low on money and we were the most expensive program."

I haven't been to this park, nor would I be interested in costume characters at any park but younger members of my family certainly would be. My local park, BPB has several characters in the 'Beaver Creek' section of the park and the kids love them, its just a great thing for kids in my opinion, especially if they can get a picture with them for a small fee, I have loads of myself at Disney Paris back in the mid 90s.
Ok this may be a shock but during my trip to SFNE on Saturday I saw a lot of the characters who were laid off at SFEG. Let me pose this to you. EG was on the sell list. Now the characters get laid off? Cost cutting measure! It's a we are dumping the park so let's save some salary and not worry about EG for the rest of this season. If this layoff was at NE, GAm or GAdv... etc, I would be worried.

I mean I even saw Aquaman at SFNE. I did a double take when I saw him.
