The coroner says that the death of Pearl Santos, who suffered an aneurysm and died while riding Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain, was not the result of any malfunction of the ride. The aneurysm she had was a pre-existing condition that "can fatally rupture due to a number of common stresses, including arguments, physical exertion or the experience of excitement or fear." The ride is currently open to the public.
Get the whole story from The LA Times.
I would think the coroner could have concluded this sooner by acknowledging that millions of riders have left the ride alive, but what do I know.

It just puts the saying " chill out, don't have a coranary" In one more use.

Gosh people can't you take a joke. Just laugh and get on with life.
Well DUH!!!!! This much has been obvious from the time it happened. I've been on Goliath and it is easy to understand how it could exxagerate an existing condition, given the g-forces on the ride, but for someoneto think that it caused the death................thats nonsense
The interesting thing is that both the LA Times and the Orange County Register reported on this story. Have a look at the Register's version:

This is a comforting report for this summer that has started off on a slightly rough start

I'm so glad Goliath wasn't the cause of the woman's death even though i knew it wasn't cause by the ride. I'm goin to Magic Mountain in three weeks for my very first trip there and i was praying that Goliath would be open and safe!!! I can't wait to ride!
Ok, nobody yell at me, but I have a stupid question. Is goliath wood or steel?

I think the final helix turn of Goliath maybe to intense of a turn, what do you think?
Maybe the helix at the end of the ride caused the woman's death because I have hear the helix is pretty darn full of G-Force.

Yes, but as we've pointed out several times, those G's pull blood to your lower body, not your head. Since we aren't doctors, but the coroner is, I'll take his or her word for it that it was caused by the "stress" and "excitement" of the ride.

Does SFMM still plan to file a law suit against the coroner for defamation?

To win, they would have to prove that what they said was false, they knew it was false and the park suffered damages. That's a pretty tall order and I don't think their lawyers could do it.
