Cool interview with Jack Morey

http://coasterfusion.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?11083.post

Talks about new pier spanning woodie, and possible 2012 Halloween event.

That would be a huge coaster to span a quarter mile in between the piers and have a twister section on the other with still enough momentum to return. Im guessing 150ft 65mph.

Whats interesting is they show a cable stay bridge between the piers. Huge expense.

It also looks like the coaster goes under Mariner's Landing pier, prior to exiting to the bridge to Hunt's pier. Either that or the new coaster is going to crash into the Condor

Jeez..Condors are ALREADY an endangered species...

The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

Chuck, there isn't anywhere close to a quarter mile between the two piers the woodie will be built upon. It's only a couple hundred feet at best. The quarter mile is between the two middle piers. And yes, the woodie does go under neath the first pier.

A quick look at google maps will show that there isn't a quarter mile between the 2 piers.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

It would be going between Mariner's Landing *(the one with the Great NorEaster) and the old Hunt's Pier (The one that used to have the Golden Nugget). I dont think it's a quarter mile, only a couple of blocks.

I think on the map it was around 100 ft. between.

The coaster will span Morey's Surfside Pier and Hunts Pier. There is 'one' beach block between the decks, and that is the only area to be spanned. Period.

So, what you're saying is, it's not a quarter mile...

Cool. Can I get another seven people to verify this?

Is it a quarter mile?

I have no idea how far it is, I was too busy watching the tram-car! :)

"Watch the tram-car, wa-watch the tram-car, wa-wa-wa-watch the tram-car please!" Seriously though, this ride is an enormous undertaking regardless of the span, and I am definitely VERY much looking forward to it.

Just in case anoyone forgot...we still need to get THE Fascination Parlor (Flipper's) re-opened... ;)

You know, I just took the opportunity to check it out on Google maps, and it turns out that it's nowhere near a quarter mile. Not even close. It's like, a hundred feet.

The pier is too damn high.

I think the pier is a Liberal and the coaster is a Conservative
