A worker was seriously hurt Wednesday morning after severing his hand while inspecting a ride at Carowinds, according to officials. In a statement, Carowinds said a third-party contractor was inspecting the WindSeeker ride when he was injured and taken to the hospital. Flint Hill Fire Department officials told WSOC the man was working at the top of the tower when his hand got caught in a pulley and severed.

Question for anyone that might know such things... does maintenance work 300' high usually occur w/ paired workers? Or was this guy up there alone?

It's scary to imagine being up there alone with a serious injury, at least with a teammate you could depend on them to take control of the situation.

An article mentioned how he had to yell down to get help, so I'd assume he's up there alone with someone at the bottom.
