Construction Duration

Okay I am anxious about Jazzland's BTR because as you know New Orleans is in need of a good steel coaster. So I was wondering how long does it take for them to start construction after an announcement usually. The reason is they don't even have a sign of land marked off. I mean the pieces are there so can't they start, and deffinitely have it open on opening day. Also how long do you think it will take them to construct it. I wouldn't think very long considering how many times SF has built this coaster. I am just really ready for a new coaster close to me even though I've ridden it at 3 other parks.
There isn't a "usual" thing for construction. Some parks begin construction way before the announcement, and some parks begin after the announcement.
I think it all depends on the park, doesn't it? Wasn't Power Tower practically done before Cedar Point announced it?

Is AOL just trying to annoy me?
Announcement schedules are a matter of what the park thinks will be best for their marketing. Construction times can vary depending on many factors. In New Orleans construction times may be extended somewhat due to the need for exceptional foundations on the soft soils and more rain days required than in most cities. However, I would think that the new coaster will probably be ready for opening day next year.
