Construction @ Knotts

I went to Knotts about a week ago and they were doing construction where the haunted shack was and walking from Big Foot to the bumper cars at the back corner. It's a small area so I'm wondering if maybe it will be a new rollercoaster that spends most of it's time way above the ground. Maybe that hyper that was rumored. Any other thoughts?

This area, over by Bigfoot, is for one of the flat rides that used to be under Windjammer. It had to be moved in prep for the removal of WJ and to make way for the new coaster. *** This post was edited by sfmmman2001 on 6/27/2001. ***

And WipeOut (another 'under WJ' flat-ride) is being relocated to an area under the Sky Cabin (Prep work is under way).

Anybody know what they decided to put where the haunted shack was?
And are they taking out the old parachute drop tower?

I'd love to see a mine train coaster where Haunted Shack was. Or somewhere in that aera.

Good idea. Perhaps replace the calico mine ride with a mine coaster? Heck, they could incorporate a lot of the same theming elements.

I think Wipeout is to big near that small construction zone near the sky cabin, but who knows. its sad they have to remove these rides, and they havent even been in one polace for 1 whole year.

Yes they have. HeadSpin was re-located into the Windjammer spot in Spring of 1999 and along with its re-locating was the new WipeOut. So they HAVE been operating under WJ for over a year already WAY MORE than a year in fact. Plus, both flat-rides are staying, so they are not technically 'removed'.

That would be cool if they got a couple of racing hyper coasters, like racing magnums or something to that effect.
