Conneuat Lake Park tips

My family and I are going to Cedar Point this weekend (Friday night and Saturday), and I thought we could go to CLP on the way home to western PA Sunday. We'll only be staying a few hours and was wondering what I should ride. I know Blue Streak is a definate. I was wondering, in your opinion, what are the hits and misses.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hits - Devil's Den [PTC dark ride], Turtle, Tempest, Flyers, Toboggan, and have the Steak-On-The-Lake dinner at the historic Conneaut Hotel [or, at least walk thru it].

Well, I haven't visited Conneaut yet but I'm planning a trip.

The most important rides to somebody like myself who has an interest in older rides are: Flying Scooters, Devils Den (a gravity-powered haunted house ride - the only other one I know of like it is at Camden Park), Tumble Bug (although I understand it isn't running right now), the Carousel, and the Train (manufacturer?) You can find a full ride list here.

Ultimate Trip (indoor scrambler ) sounds like fun and the bumper cars may be interesting as I've heard bumping of the cars is forbidden!

The Dreamland Ballroom and Hotel Conneaut are probably worth checking out also if you have any interest in amusement park history.

Edit: Mamoosh - Devils Den is a PTC? Is Camden's haunted house a PTC also?

If you are going to be there a few hours, you should have time to ride whatever you want.

In my CD player: Centaur - In Streams
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Fu Manchu - California Crossing

Even in a few hours it should be no problem to catch every ride in the park. The Turtle is down right now, as is the YoYo. You can bump the bumpercars, in fact, the ride op greatly encourages it, though last time I was there there were only six cars running. Still a lot of fun though, the area for the bumpercars is really big, so you can really get some good speed going and nail people pretty good. It is an interesting little place.

Ask yourself; When was the last time YOU visited Conneaut Lake Park?

Millrace - Although I've never been to Camden I do believe their dar ride is a PTC, too. Perhaps DAFE's website would have info?

Thanks mOOSH, I love the DAFE site. Shoulda thought of that on my own.

They credit the Pretzel Company with both Conneaut's and Camden's dark ride.

Zero G Thrills - Moved and Improved

Well, my trip was cancelled Thursday due to some car problems. My Blazer has been in the shop since July 7th. I heard a taping so my mom took it to the shop (I thought it was the valve liftersprings). Here, the crankshaft was going bad, and so was the oil pump. So they replaced those, the valves, and liftersprings. They got it ready to go, so Monday I went down to get it. Then, I was told that the oil pressure wouldn't hold so they had to tear the engine apart again and find out the problem. Thursday, my mom went down to get a rental car because she didn't want to put the extra miles on her van. We got the rental (and found out that the Blazer needed a new camshaft and cam bearings), but were told we couldn't take it out of state. This was a death blow to this weekend's plans. So, now the trip is scheduled for the 16th-18th of August. :( This has been the WORST summer ever.

Atleast my mom got a new Pontiac Montana Saturday equiped with Montana Vision (the DVD player), :) but still no trip for this weekend, or whats left of it. :(

Sorry for the novel about my car.
