If this guy manages to get some decent entertainment at the park, this will be a great thing. I'm not talking musical revues here, I'm talking about concerts and music festivals. If the park can manage to attract crowds for more than just the rides, it's likely that many of those people will spend money elsewhere in the park. CLP could become a one-day destination with a little work... something I'd love to see.

At this point, anything is worth a shot!

True, Rob
they use to have concerts... the last one i saw there was REO Speedwagon and Loverboy... darn near had a rain-out for that one, worst storm i'd ever experienced at a park.. that was like 11 yrs ago.

For some reason, the idea of a Loverboy concert being rained-out doesn't sound too tragic ;)
it wasn't... REO was doing good 'til the power died... too bad nobody considered UnPlugged concerts back then... lol
The Acoustic version of ridin' the storm was pretty cool...

Heh.

I saw a concert at Conneaut once - Cheap Trick/Quiet Riot :)

That was 1991. The place was PACKED. Crazy how the place went downhill so quickly.

The return of regular concerts would help the park a ton.

Ironic that Cheap Trick played Rye Playland last time I went about two months ago. Last year Quiet Riot played a nightclub in Morristown... I passed on the opportunity to go!
quiet riot... boy, do i remember them. i'll bet they were packed. they were crowded for Reo and L-boy. (and they even charged an admission for those concerts...) They also had acts, like jugglers, one of those high swinging pole routines and others... looking back, those were nice...
all those things stopped when the park shut down for that one year...

Jugglers or Quiet Riot... tough choice! I think I'd take the Blue Streak ;)

Maybe if Quiet Riot juggled?

How about people juggling the members Quiet Riot?

Hmmmm, that's a tough one. What are they juggling?

I'm still a sucker for 'Metal Mania' on VH1 Classic.

Did I really just publicly admit that?

There's such a stigma attached to coming of age in the late 80's/early 90's.

will juggle for beer money

Hey! Don't be knocking jugglers!

Conneaut has an amazing amount of space for various performances. It's about time they started to utilize it.

Let's see, they've got the Steak on the Lake Restaurant and Bar, The Hotel Ballroom, The Beach Club, the outdoor stage on the commons, the Dreamland Ballroom, and the convention hall.

They could do quite a bit with all that.

true enough, space is something they have a lot of...
