How does a park in financial trouble expect to make money by closing things and cutting hours!?
(just trying to balance the SF thing and put it into perspective :) )

Years ago, even some larger parks such as Kennywood and Carowinds were on a 6 day-a-week schedule. As attendance at these parks grew, they switched to daily summer operation.
Some parks like Lakeside limit their weekday operation by opening daily but they limit most weekday operation to evenings.

Mondays are typically quiet days for parks, and also give the park a day to a more thorough maintenance assestment.

But they raised the parking to $15!
Was that supposed to be some sort of joke?
Parking is the same $2.00 for all but the FREE Northwest Lot.
Hell, it's not even $15 to ride all day at Conneaut. Why on earth would their parking be that much?
On a side note, I wonder if CLP passholders will sue for 'breach of contract' ;) (reference here)

On Weekends, It's $17.95 plus tax for all-day Ride & Slide pass at CLP and $13.95 plus tax on weekdays (Wed-Fri)

Exactly my point. :)

I bet all five of them are really PO'd! :)
Anybody else get the feeling that when a small park OR a large park chain starts cutting hours/days as policy, it is probably too late? The difference here is that I feel bad for CLP.

LOL! I almost worded my post differently to insinuate the same idea, but I already play the 'bad guy' too much.
CLP always manages to annouce they won't open each year, then finds a way to pull it out.
I went there this summer. If the park had some funding, it could really be an amazing place.
