Do you like to be judged by people that are clueless to your financial situation, life situation and how you help or do not help others?

I generally disregard those people, but don't mind being one of them from time to time. :)

Though not in the top 5, something about OTSR would be a close 6th.

7.) Muslims are all out to blow up roller coasters and build mosques in place of amusement parks.

I'm sure there's more.

Carrie wins the internets. (or Coasterbuzz, at least)

I still think it's lame that the coaster nerd community could carry this hopeless "cause" but not a real charity. Remember this post the next time they beg someone for money.

If you think saving a coaster is bad, #36 on that site as I type this is "Hungry children deserve to eat, help feed them Healthy Happy Children".

http://www.refresheverything.com/healthyhappychildren

(yeah, it seems like a noble cause but I had to read the title 5 times before I figured it out)

I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that "haikus" didn't make your list. ;)

I think that was a waste of money. Spending that kind of money on rebuilding and reopening a coaster for a week or so is not a great charitable cause, in my opinion.

They should have given it to me, so I could buy more music and recording equipment. I also need more software to write and perform some more music! Now THAT would have been a good charitable cause, because I'll be doing this for the rest of my life, while Blue Streak will probably be closing sooner than later.

I'm really sorry that I disagree on this subject with some of you. In all seriousness, that money could have done so much good for another more deserving cause.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Un freaking believable that people hope the park closes, That other charities are more deserving ect.

Did you see most of the charities on there were pretty pathetic. HEALTHIER CANDY CHOICES? Was above it half the month. Oh yeah lets see the kiddies pick up dehydrated banannas over that snickers bar.

Forbid that a maintainable worker might have a job next year helping feed his family or others have some jobs to help get them by. Without BS at the park, There is really no reason for stopping by that town. A place I've stopped by 3 times in ten years and its five hours away. I've bought gas in town. Ate at the park ect. Its not all about BS.

The park may survive, It may not, While its there you might as well support it because when its gone. It will never come back.

Would you still support Conneaut Lake if they sent the Flyers to Carowinds?

Oh, I think there is plenty of bs at the park. It really is all about bs.

Also, no one in this thread has said anything about wanting the park to close, and it is the opinion of myself and plenty of others that there are more deserving charities out there. That's the whole point of holding a vote, to allow people to choose what they'd like to see the money go toward. Just because some of us chose not to use our votes on CLP, doesn't mean we want to see it die.

I don't understand that mentality, at all. Just because we all like something, doesn't mean we have to like it above and beyond other things that we may find important. Coasters are only a small slice of everyday life, and sometimes some of us are going to be into other things.

What's wrong with haiku?

I find it a real art form

But I have no life

The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

(in no particular order)

  1. If you would actually go back and READ my post...
  2. This is a coaster enthusiast site, right?
  3. Dick Kinzel is corrupting the world
  4. "Pay to Cut" is evil and a violation of the eleventh commandment
  5. Amusement park food pricing is going to cause the industry to spontaneously implode one day soon

Though not in the top 5, something about OTSR would be a close 6th.

Edit: In fairness I should disclose I did some paraphrasing. :)

Very good, Carrie :) And those all sound valid to me. Everyone has their own 'thing' I guess. I sure as heck could care less about CF's or any company's 'Q3' results, or what have you. So I don't participate in those topics.

I'm sure we all, as a group, have some things in common as well. And I'm sure most of you are fun to hang out with in person *hugs*. Things tend to get lost in translation and personalized on forums, I think.
