Pretty funny post, Dan.
Isn't it wonderful that Holiday World has Paula, and that she frequents Coasterbuzz? It'd be hilarious if Shapiro or Kinzel did that.
"I can understand you frustration with our Q-Bot, LK, but let me assure you that it really isn't line jumping..."
"LK, I'm sorry that we removed one of your favorite water rides. We plan to replace WWL in the near future."
It would be Bazzaro World!

Well we do get Tony on here from time to time, but hes more frequent on pointbuzz and seeing as he has the same title as Paula hes a more apt comparison.
Now if Mr. Koch would start posting here...
Paula was most kind to respond to my post, and I have emailed her with the details. Again, I love Holiday World and did not post here in order to express negativity toward the park, because it is truly one of the gems in the amusement park world. I was just confused by what happened, and it is my hope this will help clarify the policy so that everyone knows the proper procedure to ride the Voyage and other other great coasters at this park safely.
Thanks again.

This isn't our policy and we'd like to investigate the situation.
I'm very please to hear this.
Something similar happened to a friend of mine a couple years ago at HWN. He had a piece of soft gooey fudge in a zippered pocket and the ride-op on Raven made him remove it.
I'm pleased to hear that too, and that Paula was kind enough to ask for more information. I was just at HW in June and rode every coaster in the park, including Voyage three times, and always kept my wallet in my side pocket and cell phone and sunglasses in cargo pockets, without being asked to remove anything.
We were there last week and did not have any issues with this. I had my wallet in one of my cargo shorts pockets and cell in the other. My thought is that it might have been a new ride op that was interpreting the rules very rigidly.
Yes, the ride op had a very strict interpretation of the rules. However, I was more shocked at how guest relations responded in this situation It appears guest relations was covering for the ride op or was ill informed as well. I would have expected more from guest relations. Actually I would have demanded to speak to a supervisor at guest relations. Hopefully, the individuals involved are informed of the policy during their investigation. I am glad this is not the parks policy! Excited for the Fall Affair!

Well, he was probably hungry. Given the going rate for a slice of fudge these days, I'm not the least bit surprised. :)
I know this has nothing to do with the topic and I didn't think I should make a new thread for it but Why isn't there any Hype, speculation, or rumors going on about HW big announcement comming up Aug.12 th.
I know Paula had said something about this a few months ago on the holiblog and there was no response, now they confim they're announcing something and still no ones talking.
Is everyone just waiting for the 12th to see what is it? Do you guys think it's just an upgrade to the park and nothing ride related so theres nothing to talk about? I just find it odd that HW is saying were announcing something yet it seems like no ones paying attention to it.
While everyones focused on KD and Carrowinds Will is planning the sleeper hit of 2010...Intamin megalite... nice dream I'm having lol
Well, see, we're all confused about Holiday World now.
Six months ago, we all assumed that their new-for-2010 attraction would be "Pilgrims Plunge: Now Open (Almost) Every Day".
Then they got that running this season, so now we just assume they're operating a year ahead of schedule.......

We just got back from Indiana Beach where they claim to have the #1 Major Steel Coaster in Indiana :). They were talking about Steel Hawg.
I don't think topping that would be tough. I like the fact that when HW does something they go all the way to give there customers the very best.
I find this very disturbing. You always ride Voyage in the front? Get in the back seat one time for Christ's sake!
IMO it comes to to the ride attendant they sometimes over react to rules for their ride. When I was there I had buttons on my Cargos and had my hat, Wallet, and several othere things and was very buldgy but the Ops never said anything about them. So once again I think this cases came down to the attendant just trying to be a step ahead of his/her job.
Ken;
There should just not be any rule, at any park about having to leave a wallet in the station. If your questioned about something in your pockets, and show it to a ride op. He/She should just say, Okay, sorry for the inconvenience, and enjoy the ride. That's it.

When The Voyage first opened, I basically rode in all the seats, and quickly found that I enjoyed the ride in the very front the best. From that point on I have always chosen the front. ;)
