Coney Parachute Jump Lighting

I submitted this to news, but I don't see it, so for anyone in the NYC area the Coney Island Parachute Jump tower will hold a lighting ceremony Friday, July 7, at 9pm.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

I really hope they go through with the coney island revitilization.

I would be there today but I am workign till 9pm

It's a real shame they could get parachute Jump *operating*, but this is clearly the "next best thing". Can't wait to get a night-time lap on Mom only to look across and see a grand piece of "old Coney" down the street. :)

Majortom I'm sure the festivities will go on way into the night, so you could probably still make it after work to check it out. Sounds like a cool lighting package.
