Thanks for the links, Jim. Looks so odd disassembled, especially that last pic simply labeled "stump."

Moosh - fingers crossed for an operating PJ ;)

I am so glad they are restoring it to a operable fashion instead of a sad reminder of what once was.

I am sad that Freefall will probably not be part of the Rebuild.

Chuck, who says he gets depressed when he sees stuff not working.

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

Im glad it's getting fixed. It will be cool to have a restaurant at the top, or even an observation deck, not to mention the ride operating.

Only if it the project was started a little over a year ago maybe the poor Thunderbolt could have been put on the fix up list.

I was surprised this article mentioned Intamin, although it sounds like the actual parachute drop may not be rebuilt. Apparently they did some research on this article.

BTW who plays at KeySpan park?

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

So... will they re-open it some day?, I grew up looking at that tower, and to see it being taken down gives me the chills, I cant wait to tell my father, who really grew up with it.

GP, I think that's the park they built that forced T-Bolt to come down...if so, pretty sure it was a minor-league baseball team....

Right now, I think they're taking it apart for inspection and cleaning to determine whether or not reopening is even feasible....we'll know soon enough!

The Brooklyn Cyclones. They are in the NY Penn League. I believe it is a step down from single A baseball. http://brooklyncyclones.com/ there's even some info on the parachute drop and pictures.

The newpaper said that it was being partially taken down to clean the lead paint from the metal, and I imagine to look it over to see if making it work again would be feasible.

So what league is the team in? I couldn't determine if it was AAA, AA, A, etc. Looks like AAA or AA to me.

Look at my post right above yours!

Are you sure it's a step down? Or did you mean a step up from? That's appears to be too nice a stadium for rookie-league ball...

I just searched this site to find out what league the NY-Penn League is. http://www.georgecoi.com/nypl It's single A.
