According to the New York Post, the city closed the Coney Island Cyclone after a mishap last Saturday that sent four people to the hospital with whiplash. Officials allegedly said it was closed for maintenance.

Jeff, Did Fox News burn your house down or something? This is the second time you have tried to blast them in as many weeks. I haven't seen them do a coaster story in quite some time, so do they even deserve a mention in this forum?
Personally I like the NYT, BBC, Aljazeera and hopefully ABC will keep it together after Jennings' passing. We have a local NBC affiliate here in Cleveland that does real news, finally.

This and Coasterbuzz of course...we never show any bias on here! :-)

They all do it including Fox and when they start telling you what to do, In their own interest, It's time to turn it off, Better yet, CANCEL THEM on cable.
Journalist, Report whats happening. Infotainment? Stating their personal views and stirring up controversey.
Chuck, who would pay to watch Al Schottlekottie in this day in age laydown 60 news stories in 30 minutes and let you pick what your interested or concerned about.
BTW Heres that link from someone supposedly on the ride when Cyclone crashed. It's interesting he says the Ride ops were making fun of them for being all shook up over it.

Section. 3.Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
Not sure it fits in this situation...
Can think of other places (war coverage) that it might... It would depend on what you may think of "adhering to their enemies" and "giving them aid and comfort." I can see where a reasonable person might conclude that some media coverage could fit under the umbrella of treason. I also see the counterargument. Like many issues, I suspect one's political worldviews have profound influence...
One of CNN's journalist last thurs was saying "Someone needs to grab Bush by the neck and shake some sence into him"
Not the field reporters mind you who actually seeing it live may be emotionally involved. But journalist sitting in their NY studio without all the facts. Such as the Governor would not grant FEMA full access to NO. Such as the mayor crying for busses when he had a thousand at his dissposal and then gives the excues. The drivers don't work on sunday.
Anyway, Back to that quote by the journalist. Any threat made against the president, No matter how small is to be prosecuted period. I know a man who while drunk in a bar said I oughta pop a cap in Clintons A$$ and actually got two years prison time for it.
I can call Bush a idiot, moron, about anything I want toom but either threatining him or suggesting others do so is against the law. Journalist or not.
I read the comments on this site all the time but I never post. It seems like Jeff wants to make every post a political post. I guess that is the reason he makes those kind of comments. Just my observation please don't start calling me a nut.
Does ANYBODY know if the original premise of this thread is true? I still cannot believe that no other media outlet has ran with this story if true...? I Googled and can only find the stuff already mentioned...any New Yorkers with updates?
Every TV news operation has analysts and opinion shows. That's fine. Don't pretend you don't know the difference between that and the actual reporting of news.
Charles: You need to get a grip. The day someone gets arrested for treason for calling the president a moron is the day that the Supreme Court is disolved and the U.S. becomes a police state.
I didn't think that you would be able to answer my question either. You have proved me correct.

I don't know your personality or tastes.... but I dare say that Jeff's political tirades (meant in humor Jeff) are what make CB so much fun! While I disagree with about every non-coaster political thought Jeff has ever uttered (which is almost daily)---it certainly spices up the place.
I can see how somebody might be upset to pay money and join an amusement park site and then get hit upside the head with political propaganda/left wing talking points...but the right attitude can make this a plus! You learn to accept it after a while.
Some will be upset with the term “left wing” but I honestly cannot think of a better description for his typical rants at this point of time. If anybody has a better term to use in describing a typical Jeff response, let me know…!? I do not mean to offend…
I used to get upset at the "Iron Curtain" qualities of this place myself...but now use it for daily humor fixes. Anger just makes matters worse for all involved. I think he secretly loves to cause a stir...? Or maybe he really thinks that everybody agrees with him or should...? Who does not like a good debate now and then anyhow...?
I 've been arguing with Jeff for a few years now---he has not banned me yet! :-) How bad can he be? Stick around and join the debate, if you are so inclined...Just treat your words with kid gloves as the playing field is not even. This is his site as you now see!
Besides...we all know he is full of crap! :-)
This response is meant with nothing but humor and friendly banter!

Fox News *is* an oxymoron...I'm NOT saying there aren't some people on the other side of the aisle pushing their own political agendas...but then again, I don't see Al Franken holding himself up as *THE bastion of "Fair and Balanced" Coverage*....
Actually, the funniest thing on Fox to me is "Hannity and Colmes". I know that Hannity is a lightning rod of the extreme right, but is Colmes REALLY supposed to be representing the *opposing viewpoint*? Geez dude, grow a spine! :)
Thats why I read the paper, Screw CNN
