So I searched and did not see any mention of this here on the buzz, so I am going to post.
So the City of New York has bought Thor Equities and now owns Coney Island. Apparently they have some changes for the whole area, including making it one park and adding indoor attractions. So Coney Island : Clean, does not seem bad to me. source below.

what does everybody think about this?
Mind you, even a tiny difference, such as that between 0 and 0.000126, can make a world of difference.

I don't see anything about the city buying the property. They only control the zoning.

The city is trying to trade some other property nearby with Thor for the Coney land. So then the city can implement Bloomberg's plan for Coney and Thor can build their condos not in an amusement park.

Jeff sorry I must have interpreted the info wrong. That does not make sense to me, if Thor still owns the property and nyc rezones it, then how do they get Thor to change the property?
