Coney Island and Morey's open June 9th?

Is Coney Island mainly the Cyclone going to be open June 9th and Morey's Piers the 2 main coasters(The Great White and The Nor'easter) open June 9th too?I Email Astroland and Moreys and can't get an answers to my questions. I am going on yearly coaster trip. Trip is CP,Great Escape,La Ronde,Funtown,Canobie,SFNE,Lake Compounce,Playland,Astroland,Morey's,SFGAdv,DP,Herseypark,Geauge Lake,CP and SFGAmer. Thanks TWJ

Can't reliably say it because it's secondhand information, but my mom made a note of telling me that she saw a news report the other day saying that the Cyclone had, in fact, opened for the season. However, they may only be running weekend operation and being that June 9 is a Wednesday, the Cyclone may not be open. Morey's IS definitely open that day, but rides are only in operation from 6pm to 10pm, so don't plan your whole day around it.

A word of warning, however: I went down to Morey's for prom weekend last year (that exact week, in fact). The Saturday we got there, it poured ALL DAY, and when we went to the piers on Sunday, a lot of the major rides were closed. Whether this has to do with the weather or not is uncertain (though I felt it beared mentioning).

Basically, since there is a lot of uncertainty, your best bet is to call the parks individually now to get information, and again a few days before you're planning on visiting just to confirm everything:

Morey's Piers: 609-522-3900
Astroland: 718-372-0275

(P.S. A friendly piece of CB advice: misspellings and grammatical errors can easily be remedied by clicking on Edit, as opposed to correcting yourself in a new post -- better to find out now than hear it from a mod later. :))

Four hours is *barely enough* for Morey's, but if you haven't been there before, GO....and do NOT miss some of those dark rides...(*Dark River*)...;)

Coney will probably not be open on June 9th, but why not call the park and ask?

And yes, some of us have nothing better to do at 3am but clean up post titles :)
