I just wanted to know how fast your computer had to be to run RCT. I bought SIM Themepark and it was very slow. A friend told me that RCT would run because it is 2D as opposed to SIM themepark which is 3D. Is this true? I don't want to buy and not be able to use it.

For one,how old are you too buy Sim Theme Park, that is the crappiest game ever, and I dont know if your computer has to have anything special to run those programs.
Sorry I just had to let the world know how stupid that game is!
I can run RCT on my old PII-266 without a problem. Decent video hardware is very helpful. The faster your processor the less stuttering you get on "busy" screens.
No problems on my shiny new 1 GHz Athlon. :)

This is right off the RCT box for the minimums.
Pentium 90 CPU or one equivalent to it
Windows 95/98
4X CD Rom
16 MB of RAM
50 MB of free Hard Drive space
If you have that you should be good to go.
I have a dinosaur of a computer and I don't have any problems. Once in a while the sound will mute but when I go into the game options I can turn it back on.
