Comedic actor dies after fall at Walt Disney World

A Walt Disney World spokeswoman said Mark Priest fell last week while performing in "Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial," an interactive show where actors take guests through pirate-skills tests, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday. Priest died Monday at Florida Hospital Celebration Health-Orlando. An official cause of death has not been determined.

Having seen the show, I'm wondering how you manage to fall and create such injury during any of the mock sword fights.
This really saddens me. I took part in the pirates tutorial this last spring.
What a professional that truly cared about his audience. It says that after he fell he got up and ran off stage so that the kids would not see him injured.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

Article says he slipped on a wet spot and stumbled into a wall hitting his head. But still, a deep scalp laceration and a broken vertebra don't sound like life-threatening injuries. In fact, he didn't die until several days after the accident. I read another article where it was said he seemed to be recovering and his condition didn't seem critical. Very sad that this happened.
