Columbus Academy coaster project

As the editor of a local newspaper, I got a call this week from a mother in the Gahanna, Ohio, area who said her son and another kid have built a roller coaster as a senior project.

Of course I sent out photographers and there's a story about it running in the June 5 edition.

I'm just curious if the guys who built it are on this board. I don't want to give their names, but if you're here - speak up!

I don't know anything about the coaster, I'm just curious as to which paper you work for. If you don't feel like divulging that information I completely understand. I have some friends over at the Daily Journal, that's why I'm interested.
I actually edit three weeklies: Gahanna News, Tri-Village News and The Times (Canal Winchester). My company produces 21 such weekly papers for all of Columbus's suburbs.

Hmmm...I'm currently an Ad Designer at the Dogpatch...er....Dispatch myself (please don't hate me!). It's no animation studio but it's better than nothing right now. LOL I guess print advertising and coasters go hand in hand. So which of these will we be able to catch the story in? How big is the ride?

Model coasters and rides

Arrow Guy - I saw the pictures and it's no big deal. Looks no more than 10 feet tall with just two dips. Nothing like that steel ride in Indiana. You can see the story in the 6/5 Gahanna News.

btw - we call your paper the Disgrace. ;)

but at least they don't have 12 year old punks delivering it (they tried to get my girlfriend to let them inside so they could watch The Simpsons) ;)

everything's better with a banjo

Millrace - you are right. The kids in my own neighborhood "forget" to deliver about 3 times a month. Meanwhile, the competitor's weekly, delivered by adults, is on everyone's doorstep right on time. Grrr.

Hey all - in case anyone cares - this story is out in today's (6/5) edition of the Gahanna News, on page 1.

One of the kids is wearing a Phoenix shirt.

This may or may not be up on our Web site (www.snponline.com) later today. I was impressed by my reporter's writing.
