Colossus, SFNE Cyclone - NTG treatment, or Rolling Thunder model?

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and place your bets!

Option 1: Both get RMC, the world is a better place.

Option 2: Colossus gets RMC, Cyclone gets the bulldozer (SoCal'ers rejoice).

Option 3: Cyclone gets RMC. Colossus gets the bulldozer (New England "pahties"). *Note: Option edited to correct for mental lapse*...

Option 4: Both get bulldozed...no one celebrates.

Originally it was going to close in August but the park doesn't want another late opening like goliath which is why they moved the date up and have already been clearing land around it.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Oh Mr. Gator, I think you have a typo in option three. Cyclone can't get RMC and bulldozed too. Unless, of course they... Oh never mind.

Option 1, please. Double or nothing.

^actually Cyclone has been RMCd a few years ago when they came in and added topper track to the rough spots which made it a much better ride.

RCMAC - I see your point, and edited the original post.

gamerguy - I've mentioned several times how much I like SFNE Cyclone with the new RMC work that had been done. That's why this announcement surprised me so much...

^i found out in february and i was shocked as well. I remember being there at its opening 31yrs ago to this day and i will get the last ride on it july 20th at 11pm.
Here's another question for everyone.
How Many inversions do you think IC will have?

Option 1 sounds great, but I would only be willing to bet on option 2.

I'm not sure I can safely answer that question on a family site....

Yeah, I think they are both getting bulldosed

There's plenty of work going on around Cyclone that is certainly not prep for demolition. Only option 1 makes sense here.

[IMG]This is closing weekend for cyclone at sfne is anyone going?

RMC construction on Cyclone is well underway since the ride closed on july 20th. You can follow the whole project here: http://sfneonline.org/2014/08/03/cyclone-construction-update-2/

Hmmmm. Gotta be at least #2. :)

By the way, I had forgotten how you could see a bit of the old parking lot from the brake run on Colossus. I wonder if they'll preserve that for posterity? :)

I think option one too, in that picture it says I rode it last in 2014 not I rode it last ever
