Coke to dominate US Six Flags parks

Posted | Contributed by redman822

Theme park giant Six Flags and The Coca-Cola Company announced a long-term agreement that will make Coca-Cola the exclusive soft drink supplier in all 28 Six Flags parks in the U.S., beginning January 1, 2003. The new agreement will move Coca-Cola availability in the Six Flags system from 65% to 100%, making Coca-Cola the official soft drink supplier of Six Flags parks worldwide.

Maybe this means I'll finally be able to find fountain Mello Yello somewhere.

i prefer pepsi products. i was so surprised to see cedar point with all pepsi stuff because down in VA, it seems like everything is coke.

How ironic. Cedar Fair is Pepsi and Six Flags is Coke. The two biggest theme park chain rivals are now paired up with the two biggest cola rivals. :) Notice the two better ones are teamed up.

Yep the two best are Coke and Six Flags...glad you can admit it Swoosh!

;) But seriously, I think Coke is better than Pepsi...now SF vs. CF...that's another issue altogether. I cannot comment on the rest of CF, as I have only been to CP, but from what I have heard CF is better...so we'll have to call it a tie...and agree to disagree...

Wow, now I have a little more respect for the Flags. At least their beverage choice is a wise one :)

Don't Paramount parks have an agreement with Coke too? Last time I went to PKD (1999) it seemed like anywhere you looked, you saw the Coke logo.
SFNE has Pepsi and i prefer Coke over Pepsi anyday.

Mmmmmm, fountain Coke stomps all over fountain Pepsi any day. (I need to drink diet for health reasons, and diet Pepsi is just sickeningly oversweetened)

Cedar Fair still serves up Coca Cola at Knotts. The soak city across the street serves Pepsi, and has ride sponsored by pepsi, while the Log Ride is sponsored by Coke.
It doesnt really matter at SFWoA, no one is buying coke there, why put down $3 for coke when you could get a cup of water for free:)

I am surprised to hear that. almost everyone I know prefers either Regular Coke or Diet Pepsi. Very few of the people in my circle like Pepsi and I have never heard someone say they prefer diet coke.

Coke is it ! (see what year's of advertising will do to you ?).

Seriously, I do prefer Coke products, for the most part. Definitely don't like Pepsi...but it's almost acceptable out of a fountian.

As for CF vs. SF ? I think Cedar Point is better than -most- SF parks, but if you rate the chain as a whole, Six Flags stomps all over CF. Maybe if CF would put more rides in their smaller parks, it'd be a different story.

Anyway...these are just *opinions*. To each their own.

When I have a choice, that is all I drink, when it comes to cola choices (Diet Coke)...

Don't let a Coke vs. Pepsi debate turn into a SF vs. CF war. Oh, and I prefer Coke. I passed the "Pepsi Challenge". ;)
